Dont really know where to start...

Well first off I have no idea on where to start on weight loss. About 5 months ago I moved from Texas and my couch potato ways, to New York. Within 3 months I had went from 190 pounds to 165 pounds by walking about 5 days a week for atleast 4 hours a day, while eating less sweets and more healthy food. I still am depressed all the time as I don't feel any better and still look somewhat fat, so im going to start working out and eating even better than I already am.

Ok so, I need a bit of help on numbers... I need to know how much weight I can loose in 1 month or a 1 week(whatever is better to calculate weight loss) with my current situation. Im a male thats 17 years old and the last time I weighed myself I weighed 165. If you read above you should know somewhat of my workout situation... Also is there any vitamins that I could take to possibly help my metabolism? Also any other info you care to share...

HEY!!!

welcome! right i'm no expert so don't live by what i say. look around the forum especially the stickied threads.

anyway IMO i don't think the scale is the best way of measuring your loss. at your weight(i'm not sure of your height) i think you probably don't have much weight left to lose.am i right? anyway that is up to you how much you lose and how you feel when you look at yourself. the scale fluctuates and sometimes doesn't show a loss until ages. the best way is to take measuremnets. measure parts of your body and see how much you lose.

the healthy lbs loss is 1-2lbs a week but like i said you may not see a loss or may see more of a loss but don't get too worried or discouraged.

are you doing any weight training to tone up??

hope some of this helps lol. i do ramble a bit. sori.

Well the only reason im going by the scale is because at first I didn't necessarily loose weight on purpose, it just kinda happened. Meaning I never checked how much % of body fat I had. I know you shouldn't always judge the scale but its not just the scale that saw the weight loss... I came back to Texas to see my relatives and they were in aw to see that I lost so much weight. Im trying to loose at least 20 more pounds before I believe im at a decent weight.

Im currently have nothing to do with weights as im kinda workout shy and don't like working out in front of any one. Theres a gym thats about 100 yards away which is free to go in anytime I like, its just getting past the shy part...

well done with the weight loss so far!!! the scale is a good way of seeing if you are making progress in the right direction. just don't get dissapointed if you don't see what you want to see!!

i understand about the confidence. i do all my excercise at home. maybe if you take someone with you for a few days might help you feel more comfortable. and remember everyones there for the same reason well more or less lol. so you aynt gonna be any different. don't woory about what other people say or think. don't let them stop you doing what you want to do.

Thanks... Its kinda discouraging going to workout especially since its on an army base and there is some pretty huge dudes working out. I don't know many people my age as of moving there not too long ago. Anyways ill probably just buy my own weights and hopefully start working out. Thanks for the help :D

no worries!

buying your own is good aswell . read around the forum about good form when excercising and workouts. that was one of my problems- not knowing how to excercise. lol!!

soon you will be confident enough to go to that army base

HAPPY NEW YEAR

planning to go for one

Hi everyone, I'm a 22 years old female and I'm planning to go for one. Are there any fitness boot camps in Scotland particularly in Glasgow? I've never been to any boot camp and have no single idea about it. My reason for wanting to go is to increase my fitness level, to lose weight and to gain some muscle (tone up), and is expecting to find one which is about 1 month long. Any help and information is greatly appreciated.
