Donating blood

Well, I was going to start my weight training on Friday but my son got sick so I was taking care of him all weekend... except for about 90 minutes on Saturday when I gave blood. I know they tell you not to lift anything over 5 lbs for the rest of the day (blew that one - the kid is 25 lbs), but how long should I wait after donating before doing a weight lifting workout? I am probably OK this time, but I donate blood about every 9 weeks so this would be good info to have then.
 
I am a regular blood donor and I have found no ill effect of working out the next day. I make sure I drink plenty of fluids, more than usual, the day I donate and the day after. I have done heavy weight training the next day and have felt fine.
