DOMS with same exercises

I had a thought! :confused4:

In terms of muscles becoming accustomed to an exercise and the need to constantly change exercises.

Say, bench press for example. If one was to do bench presses for months, performing the same reps, sets and on the same days each week. Eventually, your muscles will get bored and used to it and not progress.

What if you still get DOMS after a long time? I mean, as long as you're feeling muscle soreness after that exercise a day or days later means you're still stimulating muscle growth.

Well that was my thought... I'll wait for a reply soon.

Cheers!

The question is, do you have to get sore to get muscle growth? I've never seen anything that says that.

Usually you won't get sore after you've done an exercise for a while. If you're increasing your ROM, you'll probably get sore, there are some researchers who believe that soreness happens when muscles remodel to be longer (adding sarcomeres in series)

DOMS is a strange thing, i almost never get DOMS after a chest or back workout, but the next day after EVERY leg workout I have DOMS
