Hi Everyone - interested in peoples thoughts, my first forum and my first post!!![Wave Smiley :waving: :waving:](/forum/styles/smilies/wave-smiley.gif)
I love cycling and spend hours and hours doing it, thinking that's what I need to do to stay fit, It is now winter here in Melbourne/Australia with temperatures around 2 degrees in the morning. So thought I might try some blast/burst training to see how I go.
Started this week with 30 seconds flat out and 2 minutes of recovery repeated 4 times with 2 minutes warm up and down (I have set my bike up on an indoor trainer). I will be cycling in an event in a couple of weeks 100km Rapha Womens Ride, my friends are still doing long cardio rides so will be interesting how I match up with this style of training.
I first heard this on a MasterClass with JJ Virgin (Author of Sugar Impact Diet Cookbook) where you do burst/blast training say only for 12 minutes resistance and cardio and that's all you need to do to burn fat.
What the experts are saying
When you spend 30, 40 or even 50 minutes pounding away on the treadmill, you send your body a powerful signal to start storing fat instead of burning it.
Recently, several new studies revealed that long, slow and boring cardio workouts actually SABOTAGE your natural ability to burn ugly belly fat.
I will keep you posted on my progress
Have a great day
