Dogs

Does anyone have a rottie or english bulldog? Im trying to decide what kind of dog i want in the future. well ill probably have a bunch cuz i love dogs but those two in particular im interested in knowing more about. if you have any other kind of dog that you think is awesome let me know. I love small and big dogs but no poodles or chiwawas. Let me know, and you can put up pics too. :) Thanks!

My brother's second ex-wife had a pit bull and it was the best dog I've ever seen. It would fetch and drop the thing at your feet. It didn't want to play tug-o-war, it wanted to run and chase.

My mom has a boxer mix, a good dog too. Kind of a big baby really.

check out Viszlas... i don't know much about them, but my ex had one and it was the best dog! they're beautiful dogs too... google it

ya a lot of people think all rotties and boxers are mean...i know thats not true, and it all depends on how you train them. I think i will get a big dog like that, and most likely have to do the english bulldog cuz my boyfriend really wants one. lol and i also love shih tzus. they get really hyper and play bite and stuff, its fun. and i like that they are small so you can hold them and they are very friendly.

I had a Rottie. She was the sweetest best dog I've ever had. Smart as anything and my best friend too. We trained for search and rescue together and for therapy work as well. She did both jobs with ease. She was truely the most amazing animal I have ever had the privilage of having as a friend. I would say that she was the most sensitive of all the dogs I have ever had over the years, gauging moods and needs better than any person I know. My aunt also had a rottie as did two of my best friends and I know they would all agree with what I have said. Training them is a breeze, they are cuddly and would do anything for you. They are like little sponges soaking up whatever attention you will give them. They are quiet too, well except when they talk (which sounds like grumbling and growling but its not) and only bark when there is a threat. I have owned and trained Shepards, collie mixes, beagles, labs and mutts. By far Lexxus my Rottie was tops in every way possible. :D

My in-laws had a rottie - she was AWESOME! One of the girls at the gym shows them -- she thinks they're pretty awesome too!

There are definitely too many adorable breeds to choose from. We have a mutt - unfortunately, she's very old and getting worse every day :( That was the biggest problem with my in-laws rottie - she only lived maybe 5-6 years :(

aww im sorry basketlady about the the dogs. :(

ive asked for a dog my whole life, like for christmas and birthdays but my mom wouldnt give in. ofcourse my family did have a dog, but when i wasnt born yet. it was a black lab which got loose a lot because i have a big family and kids would accidently leave doors open and such, but they said he was very friendly and cute.

so im looking forward to owning my own someday! :)

its good to know that the rotties you guys have seen are nice and fun to take care of.

You don't like Chiwawas? I have 3 of them! and a Beagle. When they see a squirll or a bird outside they all bark like crazy. it takes like 20 minutes to shut them up.

wow im surprised you do. they remind me of paris hilton and those celebrities that carry them in bags and i dont know i just dont think they are that cute. but im sure yours are ;) and the bark is a little annoying to me. oh and i will only own male dogs. no females! lol

Buy a kelpie. They are the perfect size they are energetic loving and loyal they dont molt and they dont smell. Unless they roll in something :p they are hepasa fun Theres a picture of mine on here somewhere.

I have two Labs, one Chocolate, one black, I think the black has a little terrier in her since she likes to dig. Both females.

I like labs because I have small children and I know nothing will happen.

Alot of it has to do with training the dog and demonstrating you are the master.

My neighbors are amazed how well behave my dogs are and how responsive they are to my commands.

Bes demonstration, was one day during december, there were two deer out front of our house, I went outside with my chocolate lab, Bamn, she started sprinting after the deer, I called her name, she stopped on a dime and came back to me, I gave her praise and a treat and she was good to go.... My kids saw it and they were upset because our dog chased away Santa's Reindeer, lol :D

no bad dogs, just bad owners

That's cute! /\ /\

But, I wouldn't say that is entirely true about no bad dogs, some breeds are statistically more likely to bite than others, even when well cared for, etc. I was surprised to learn that well loved, well trained, well cared for family pets were among the top biters in some breeds, I had always thought it was only the mean chained up fighting dogs, and the ones that weren't trained well that bit.

Personally, I like labs. They are big enough to look mean and intimidating, but smart, and loyal.

if ur thinking about getting a rottweiler, i would say go for it, just make sure u buy it from a trustworty breeder cus if u dont ur dog could end up with all kinds of mental and physical diseases whichs not cool and cheap

i have a Dachshund, easy to train and all that, but if i were to get a new one i would get a schäfer or rottweiler because they are vrey very protective and smart, but u should have some experience with dogs before getting such dogs tho... Labrador is a good start wery eager to please:cool:

ok thanks guys!

I was thinking about adopting dogs from shelters...like my friend saved this german shepard, if she wouldnt have bought it, in the next couple days they were gonna put the puppy to sleep. But shes alive and very happy. When I go home, im usually greeted by her. shes so friendly. but anyway, so anybody know more about shelters or anything? id rather not spend a grand on a dog in a petstore when i can save a dog for pretty cheap.

Yeah I cant think of anything real bad about Shih Tzus, and I have lots of experience with them so they would not be a problem for me. My brother had two and I was young and always around them, and then my sister had 3! more recently lol and I always took care of them for her. More than one together is even better, even tho they fight sometimes with each other, they are awesome when you get all 3 running and chasing you. lol. But yeah, ill ask my friend what she did to make sure her dog was a good one. I know it had fleas or something when she first adopted it but took care of that. Thanks!

awww thats a very cute dog! one of my neighbors had one but the owner let her loose all the time. one day she got hit by a speeding car, and died :( but yea golden retrievers are very good dogs!

I'd say go with a golden. I've had 2 since I was born, and they are just amazing dogs. Easy on the eye too. My half lab/golden died in August, so we have a new dog thats like 5 months old, I'll take some pics of him for you tomorrow. The vets still don't know what he is...maybe you can decide. :)

...lmao @ the first pic belle :p
