Does this sound about right?

5 mph is not a walk, you a mild jog, light run, going.

3.5-4 mph starts getting brisk.

but- for your question. Not gunna burn that many calories, unless you are going up hill both ways, or using a treadmill with maybe 4,5,6 or 7 incline. that may get you to a 600/hr burn rate.

Hi

Do these calculations sound about right?

220 Pound man walking at 5mph for 60 minutes will burn about 600 calories?

Thanks

What is the reason you are asking this question? Its a good question, I am just curious as to the foundation for it---learning calories burned during exercise movements.......is VERY IMPORTANT to understand......

So,

I ask what are your goals, Young Man?

Lose wgt, gain Wgt?........

What is your basic understanding of calories and how this mighty and most powerful element plays into a exercise routine?

Have you configured your MT Line (Maintenance Line for caloric intake including associated activities).

If you havent I can assist you with this.

Journal: Have you thought about making your own journal....in the correct portion of the forum where you can input your thoughts, ask questions, log your diet, and exercise routine; alot of eyes see these journals........I will be right there with you..........I may miss a few days once in a while.,,,,,,,,,,,But I WILL

RAH!, RAH!.........and all of that stuff..........!!!! LOL!

Best wishes, brotha.........:)

Best regards
