Does protein = building large muscles

I am a 25 yr old woman working out 4-5 times a week with lots of cardio. I am in pretty decent shape and my goal is to have a little more definition. I just starting taking protein shakes with breakfast and after my workouts in the evening. I was advised to take my body weight minus 30 and that is how many grams of protein I should be eating.
My husband thinks I am going to build too much muscle with this. I lift light weight for high reps. 3 X 25.
Should he be concerned?
 
although protein is required to help build bigger muscles, there's more to it than just taking protein. 3 sets of 25 reps is really not condusive to building big muscles.

he doesnt have anything to worry about. ;)
