Sport Does Protein Brand Matter?

Sport Fitness
Hey guys i take EAS 100% whey protein. Its around 23g of protein pure serving. Do the name brands really make a difference is it really worth the extra 40 bucks?

Not really, if you can stand the taste of EAS.

The fancy **** is for sissy girls like me who, after months and months, still almost vomit when drinking the best of the 15+ brands and 80+ flavors they've tried.

YMMV but if the brand is too cheap it may not mix properly without "clumping". Also as someone said the taste may be horrendous. You can get unflavoured whey as well.

Okay. here's an answer. YES
YES
YES
he brand does matter. If you get some knockoff protien its most likely going to have amino acids in incorrect amounts and probably insufficient amounts.

You need a high BV (bio-valuable) protien with amino in correct amounts. YOu will be able to absorb MORE and USE MORE. So, you will not need to pack in 300g of protein every day.

Ok. I mean my protein shake i take clumps and **** if i dont blend it. But i think the whole "ew protein" thing is BS. I do know that there is a difference between "isolate" and "concentrate". I personally dont think people will sell protein that doesnt produce results. But my brother is huge and he doesnt take protein. So its more or less over rated. Unless your using it for energy. We'll see i got about another 3 months till i really see results so until then.

If your brother is huge and doesn't take protein shakes you should understand that protein shakes are not miracle supplements, they are simply protein in a convenient form. He could be eating a lot of whole quality food, while you may not be eating enough (I don't know your story that's why I say may).

idk man i wanna eat food that i know will not go too my stomach but too my arms and stuff so im trying too eat lean.

I think I said He could be eating a lot of whole quality food, while you may not be eating enough (I don't know your story that's why I say may). It is possible to eat whole quality food and also eat clean at the same time. Are you looking for popeye-like arms by any chance?

What i essentially want is shoulders, pecs, and arms that could fill out a shirt. I just started abs today as well. But i feel first impression that people see is shoulders, arms, and pecs soo ya. any tips with the arm situation i know too work triceps more cause there a larger muscle i.e they'll make your arms look bigger quicker theb biceps right?

Perhaps you can post your routine in the relevant section? A lot of people think you get big by only doing arm exercises.

You really think no one would sell you crap so they could make a profit? Supplement industry is full of it. Focus on your food. Drink whole milk. Squat, benchpress, standing press, chinups, deadlift. Don't forget to squat. Have patience. A shake won't do nothing without this .

Both of these guys are bang on.

There are a lot of horrible protein powders on the market. They're absolute crap. There are also some really good ones.

The bottom line is you have to be working out hard in order to derive the benefit from protein shakes. And it's also a good idea to know what your daily caloric intake should be in carbs, fats and proteins.

I always figured if you think you need more protein, you can always eat more meat ;)

But if you're hell-bent on protein powders, you might want to check out the "Supplements" category :)

Bodybuilders at one time use to supplement with Boron because it increased testosterone levels. Science proved this, but what was failed to mention was that it was only in post-menopausal women. Thus the supplement industry as we know it today was born. :sad2:

In the early 90's, weight gainers were the key to gaining size and strength. We had Heavyweight Gainer 900, Mega Mass 2000, Infinity 3000, Mega 4000 so on and so forth. All the companies were doing was pumping more and more maltodextrin into these products to up the calories. :speechless:

Then the revolution came and it was called Met-Rx. In Bill Phillips very first supplement review book he gave this the highest score possible. But too bad it wasn't available to the public but lo and behold it did become available. It was so potent; it had to be sold in two separate containers so as not to activate the molecular fusion needed to get hyooge!!!! :party2:

The real breakthrough came with creatine. Some trivia, Twinlab was the first company approached to release this but they turned it down. :action10:

Then came HMB, ribose, glutamine, etc. None of these shows up on anyone’s must have list today. Then came the most potent legal testosterone producing stack ever. It was andro/trib/dhea. Finally we could get steroid like effects without taking steroids and this stuff did increase T-levels. But it was only 1-2% and estrogen increased like 100% but hey, the companies made money.

Then came MuscleTech. MuscleTech to the rescue. Their NitroTech whey was 1234% better than regular whey protein. But if you read the ingredients label, you see that they included a couple of grams of creatine per serving but failed to mention that in any of the ads. Some people call that clever marketing. :action7:

Then creatine was "improved" upon. Yea, right. All they did was dump sugar into it. Cell Tech contained over 50 grams.

There was also creatine serum. This stuff was shown to contain absolutely no creatine at all but people continued to use it. Their reason, "It works for me, bro." Even CEE has been shown to do the exact opposite of what it claims to do. NO products, shown to do not a thing but hey, "It works for me, bro." :laughing2:

I left out a lot of other supplements but what does it matter, they didn't work either. :azzangel:

My friend told me he puts on this cream of some sorts and it literally shaves fat off and reveals cuts. He said it really hurts though is this true?

... Oh, come on now. :sad2: Are you trolling my forum, bb?

Other than it hurting, this is so obviously not true that the notion of your query being serious offends not just me but every rational thought process, everywhere.
