You gotta keep taking protien all day. Its what makes ur muscles grow (combined with carbs).
Your always better off with real food, and not protien powder. So only use protien powder when you cant eat. also try to keep your protien intake constant thru the day. you dont need 30-40g 3 times a day. Its better to take 10g of protien 9times a day. Hope this explains things.
Dont forget your carbs. you wont grow if you dont take ur carbs.
Yeah thank you very much. I'm not looking for muscle growth however, I'm looking to protein as a source to aid fat loss and calorie burning, because I read its harder to break down and burns more cals?
My gym and cardio is all geared to burn as much fat as I can because I want to lose some....but if the muscle comes along, that's great too!
Protein is needed throughout the entire day, yes. But the most important time is during the Anabolic stage, post-workout because your muscles are in need of it. Whey Protein is ideal because it acts quickly, but protein is needed post-workout.
Protein powder is nothing magic...its just protein in an easy to use form.
You should be eating or drinking protein 6 times a day, about every 2.5-3 hours as your schedule permits.
i would try to get a protein shake in immediately after your workout...then eat a whole food meal 60-90mins after that.
