Does anyone here actually read fitness magazine?

I never read fitness mags. I used to read M&F but I'm not looking to be huge so I stopped wasting my money on it.

IMO the purpose of any mag is to sell advertising and they stick a couple articles in between to make us think they have our best interest at heart.

Right on the money!

I use to love Musclemag but it lost its flavor after it hooked up with Muscletech. Last year I got a subscription to Men's Fitness but I'm letting it expire. It was pretty good for awhile but that too has lost its taste.

All the mags are ads or abs in six weeks. If that were true there would be no forum and I would have abs by now!!!

I thought i had read it but it was the other fitness magazine ( ) i guess. I don't think i have ever seen the one this board is for.

The one i saw is geared towards women.

I haven't but if anything I'll only look through catalogs.. if you would consider them magazines.. Like you said the ad's are rediculous.. and Playboy is probably just about the worst with ad's. What are you paying for really for playboys? It contains everything google does. And thats free.

I regularly buy Mens fitness and Mens Health. Some issues are really interesting, others aren't. Some of the articles are worth keeping as a reference too. I only really buy them because there is nothing else on the shelf worth reading.

Nope. I have two other forums I frequent, with the 2nd one having some of the best minds in the business contributing and advising.

That's the nature of mass media. I was entertaining the idea of being a journalist at one time, but lost my enthusiasm as I learned how deep the commercial and corporate thinking ran. I know it's part of our world, but I also know it's something I try not to immerse myself too deeply. The people that run it are untrustworthy.

They sell it at supermarkets right up front. Says fitness right on the cover. And i've never seen one that doesn't have a female on the front cover.

Hmmmm, I had you pegged for Playgirl.

LMAO...sometimes it takes me a while to figure out that the 'opinionated' chick I was talking to is really a guy...

I try not to look at magazines period...they're not good for my self esteem because even though I *KNOW* the majority of the pictures are airbrushed there's a little voice inside my head that says "you'll never look like that" lol

my husband reads the mens fitness but i doubt its for the fitness, mainly he reads the sex article in there and asks me about every guy in there and if id like him to look like that...(sorry tone for when u read this...its just so funny!)
