I have really really bad feet. I workout at Curves and after about 15 minutes my feet hurt like hell and it really slows me down. I have bought some good running shoes, I also have Dr. Scholl's gellins and my feet still hurt.

I realize about 300lbs are coming down on my small feet, ugh, but does anyone know what I can do to relieve the pain??

where does the pain hit you most?

I know I get heel pain, that's sort of plantars fascaitis or however that is spelled.. from wearing shoes that don't give me good arch support (Reeboks are terrible for me, New Balance gives me the best arch support - but every foot is different.

Different reasons

There are many different reasons for foot pain. Being larger than life is just one of them. Foot pain can stem from misalignment in your spine or something actually wrong with your foot. You might want to consult with a podiatrist, a chiropractor, or both to determine what is causing the pain.

Once you get the foot pain taken care of, then you can move miles into your weight loss.

Take care of yourself and look into getting some professional assistance on this one.

Mal,
My foot pain is in the arch of my foot. If I rub the arch of my foot then the pain goes away most of the time. Also, while I'm working out I stretch my foot kinda like inside the shoe, and rotate my ankle around for a few seconds and it relieves the pain.

pktull,
Thanks, yeah, I might need see a doctor. I've had this problem for a long time, it didn't just start up when I started exercising.

I had the same problem when I first started walking, about my first 2 or 3 weeks. The pain was horrible some days - brought me to tears one day. I bought new shoes (New Balance) and that helped a lot. I also have to make sure my shoes aren't tied too tight, I flex my arch as I tie them. And I stretch my arches really well before I walk. It's been a few week since I've had any problems.

Hang in there, it could just be that your arches aren't used to the extra work. If it keeps up make sure you talk to your doctor.

I used to have awful foot pain, so bad that in the morning i would crawl to the rest room. I went to the foot Dr. an he taped my feet and some other stuff, but bottom line when i lost about 40 pounds the pain went away....... hope it gets better!!!:( STAR

Pequin,
I'll try stretch my arches beforehand, thanks.

Reach,
Yeah, I guess I just need patience, the weight probably has a lot to do with it.
