I have read in various web sites and magasines that DARK chocolate is actually healthy for you (in rigth perporsions ofcaurse) apperantly they contain alot of antioxidants that help the fat tissues NOT to get hard.
We r talking about 2 bites maybe but still u can have chocolate :D
I have about 2 bites almost everyday but still loosing weigth, and ofcaurse the darker the better. The one i buy is 86% chocolate and only contains 19grams of carbohydrets in the 100grams, how awsome is that!?!? :D

BUT remember over consumtpion only leads one way, and this is what ive read from professional neutrisionists and trainers.

AND this applies to nuts as well EXEPT the darling little peanut. The best ones are almonds, pistachios and cashews.

Hope this helps anyone :hat:

Dark chocolate is a better choice for you over milk chocolate..however I think you are misunderstanding what antioxidants are. Antioxidants does not effect body fat in any way.

Antioxidants — Preventing Diseases, Naturally

Tuesday, September 04, 2007

ROCHESTER, Minn. — When it comes to boosting antioxidant intake, recent research indicates there's little benefit from taking diet supplements. A better way, according to a report in the September issue of Mayo Clinic Health Letter, is eating a diet rich in antioxidant-containing foods.

Antioxidants such as vitamins C and E, carotene, lycopene, lutein and many other substances may play a role in helping to prevent diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer's disease and macular degeneration. Antioxidants are thought to help because they can neutralize free radicals, which are toxic byproducts of natural cell metabolism. The human body naturally produces antioxidants but the process isn't 100 percent effective and that effectiveness declines with age.

Research is increasingly showing that those who eat antioxidant-rich foods reap health benefits. Foods, rather than supplements, may boost antioxidant levels because foods contain an unmatchable array of antioxidant substances. A supplement may contain a single type of antioxidant or even several. However, foods contain thousands of types of antioxidants, and it's not known which of these substances confer the benefits.

Some of the better food sources of antioxidants are:

Berries: Blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries and cranberries

Beans: Small red beans and kidney, pinto and black beans

Fruits: Many apple varieties (with peels), avocados, cherries, green and red pears, fresh or dried plums, pineapple, oranges, and kiwi

Vegetables: Artichokes, spinach, red cabbage, red and white potatoes (with peels), sweet potatoes and broccoli

Beverages: Green tea, coffee, red wine and many fruit juices

Nuts: Walnuts, pistachios, pecans, hazelnuts and almonds

Herbs: Ground cloves, cinnamon or ginger, dried oregano leaf and turmeric powder

Grains: Oat-based products

Dessert: Dark chocolate

Though supplements containing antioxidants are generally considered safe, two recent studies have suggested that taking higher than recommended doses of supplements such as vitamin E over time may actually be harmful and possibly toxic. In contrast, many foods higher in antioxidants offer an array of health benefits, such as being high in fiber, protein and other vitamins and minerals and low in saturated fat and cholesterol.

I love dark chocolate (86%).

It can be healthy, both because of the antioxidant content as well as the stearic fatty acids. But it's not really a food that'll help you lose fat in itself (unless you use it 'strategically').

Just posting what i read by others like i said :) read it in a artical about the fat tissue, and there are so many things u hear, that can be wrong and wrigth.
But i think this is a good thing for the chocolovers, but ofcaurse need to keep it to limits.
But thanks for the reply, its interesting and informal :)
God i just love this learning new things everyday and understanding the food, it helps so much keeping healthy, dont u think? :D

Stay awsome :biggrinjester:

I love chocolate, but the problem with dark chocolate is that it doesn't taste like chocolate at all. :( It's bitter, and completely defies the purpose of eating chocolate for me.

I do have some chocolate on most days. I make it fit into my calorie allowance with very little problems. As always, moderation is the key. And I really doubt that a piece of milk-chocolate is soooooo much worse than a piece of dark chocolate.

I luv chocolate too

I heard that about dark chocolate, you can eat anything you want as long as it;s in moderation. enjoy your chocolate

Milk chocolate isn't worse for you than dark chocolate, but for some mysterious reason, adding the milk gets rid of most of the 'health' benefits of the dark chocolate.

But as long as it fits into your goals for the day, who cares if it's not providing the magic benefits of the dark stuff. Especially it's taking care of the mental health benefits with it's deliciousness. ;)

I love eating chocolates. I could say I used to be a chocolate addict. I know that i have watch out over what i eat especially with the sweets. That is why i prefer eating dark chocolates since they contain less sugar and is more healthy because of the greater antioxidant content.

I also like chocolate, especially the dark chocolate, but i used to eat little, although it was hard to control myself. Now I'll have a try
