im 148 pounds and 4 foot 11. i had a baby nearly 8 weeks ago and i gained quite a bit of weight so i want to lose a lot of it for june when i go on holiday.

from this week ive been eating 1500 calories a day

doing two hiit workouts totally 1 hour and using a stationary bike as well as lifting weights for half an hour.

Hi Bella,

You should certainly see results with a combination of HIIT and weight training. Make sure you ease into HIIT though, especially is you've not done any serious cardio for a while. I use the stationary bike, 20 mins total, 20 seconds sprint / 40 seconds low spin recovery, 3 times per week (Mon/Wed/Fri). And I lift weights on Sat/Thurs, mostly full body compound movements.

As for the calories, 1500 is good but it really does depend on what those calories are made up of. Aim to increase your protein consumption (your muscles will thank you!) and lower the refined carbs and saturated fats.

If you are breast feeding, that will simply not be enough calories.
Secondly, you may find that upping your calorie intake by 200-300 calories may go a LONG way from making you feel deprived. You could concievably make up this difference from some more exercise. Keep your carbs low. However, if you're not eating enough, you can get pretty desperate for food.

Pregnancy and birth put a lot of strain on your body, and you'll fair much better if you are as fit as you can be. Also, belly dancing is a fantastic way to condition your pelvic muscles. You also lose weight while breastfeeding.
