Sport Do I need to worry about fat intake?

Sport Fitness
Yes. It's me. With another thread.

This whole time I was worried with how much FAT I took in. Now, once I finally took a look at myself in the mirror, realized something. If you look at mybody, you can see a PARTIAL outline of my ribs. Does this mean that I am somewhat malnourished, or, rather, skinny? This whole time I've been judging my fitness level and you know, fat, solely on my stomach. My stomach does have fat, however, if I sqeeze my abs hard, you can partially see my six pack, or, since Im not 100% its a six pack, abs come out.

Can anyone interpret this for me please? Since I am a rather n00b in the fitness and nutrition world. :p

Even if you are a thin person in great shape you should watch your fat intake, particularly your saturated and trans fat intake (the latter of which should be 0). If eating healthy is new to you or something you're not entirely comfortable with just remember that you don't have to go overboard analyzing everything you eat. Use common sense. If you are eating 3 relatively healthy meals a day (or 4-6 smaller equally healthy meals) then you will be fine. Don't get bogged down in worrying about one specific area of your diet (fat, carbs, etc.), just make sane decisions regarding what food you put on your plate to eat.

well, you dont need to worry about your fat intake but you do need healthy fats in your meal plan for a healthy body. fats are important for many processes in the body and we wont get much results if we dont take care of our bodies basic needs first and foremost with regards to nutrients, water, fiber, vitamins, etc

Yeah... worry more about saturated fat then total fat. Though total fat should be kept in check there's a big difference between eating a mcdonalds cheeseburger and a few handfuls of peanuts.

Eat good food (minmum simple carbs especially sugar)(minimum fats especially Sat fats)
Exercise hard and often (that means weights)
Any area that looks inadiquate needs to be exercised. Spot reduction has far more truth than some people give it credit for.

This is the basic basic basic body building way.

Some people will have tendency to store more fat in certain areas than others and when the fat loss starts happening, you'll see fat reduction at a faster rate in certain areas than others but there is no spot-reducing.

Muscle will not take the fat off but if there is enough muscle under the fat it won't look nearly as bad. Ever seen a huge man with a 6 pack? I have. Girls also-just plain look better when they have some muscle distributed through their bodies. It won't look tone and defined but it won't look as flabby either.
