Do Fat burners really work?

I was reading up on some supplements and I came across Fat Burners.
Thermonex EF. Do you guys think fat burners really work?

No, its a scam.

whats some good ways to really burn fat then? also I need to get on a better routine to build up some more muscle or at least burn some fat so I can be more defined. Any ideas would be great. Sorry for being a Newb

fat burners are not a scam. some are, some aren't. gotta do a bit of research to know which is which.

even then, the ones that do work are NOT a miracle pill. they are a supplement to your fat loss...exercise, eating right being the two primary things you need to be doing for fat loss.

at best, a fat burner will help burn an extra 100 calories a day. Not a whole lot. But, over time it can help, especially if you're just a few pounds away from the final goal.
don't start a fat loss plan by pounding down fat burners! they should be the last piece of the puzzle...if they are used at all.

100 cals? Thats it?
Why not just go jog for 15 minutes, burn 100 calories and keep your heart healthy.

Okay, boss.:)----->Please give me information on "fat burners" that are not scam in your humble opinion. To be honest, I am a skeptic of fat burners, and have made many posts, indicating this type of relevent opinion. However, there may be a chance there is information I have missed, and I would be interested in this information. Thus far I am not convinced.

Many thanks in advance.

Oh, ROCK ON! ;)

Chillen and I have had some talks about fat burners :)

I have heard lots of people over at bodybuilding.com say they have had great results from some products, mainly ones that contain ephedra, though.

I am just really scared of them because they artifically increase your heart rate and make you burn calories by making you jittery and stuff like that... it sounds dangerous to me! Who knows what the long term ramifications of using something like that are..

I actually ordered a free trial of a fat burner called "miracleburn", they actually in a way paid me to order it, I got the fat burner, plus a $10 walmart gift card and I just had to pay 4.95 in shipping charges.

I received the fat burner... thought about it for a while, about what the long term consequences might be, and even the short term ones... and decided to not use it. Who knows what they put into that pill, amounts, etc....

When I asked MalKore for the info, I wasnt referring to Ephedra because it has been banned for causing some serious health issues (and deaths to some people.)

Most so-called FB's are just full of Green Tea Extract (EGCG,etc), other types of caffiene, Hoodia, and other ingredients (too many to mention), and if you get too much caffiene it "can" cause jitters (nervousness), an increase in heart beat, etc (among other symptoms). This isnt saying that Green Tea Extract, doesnt have "some" health benefits in appropriate doses for some. Do a research on the effects of caffienated products and its overall effects on the body--concerning how it effects tissue loss. And, do a some research on Hoodie (which is claimed to have some hunger prevention). Make sure they are quality articles and information. Have a sharp eye and always look at with an educated eye.

I dont trust persons that say they had good results with FB's---when they are dieting and training at the same time, because of the personal variables involved to create fat loss, and it would be a dis-service to myself to deduce their results to one item, when in fact its probably more of circumference of diet and activity in accordance to their personal particulars. Always look with an educated eye on things like this.

I am hoping to learn something new. I will be suprised if I do on this subject. But will admit it, if it in fact information furnished does the job. And, I am also not referring to Alli. I even have complications with this FDA approved pill (dont get me started :) )

What does Miracle burn have in it?

Much happieness to you!

Fat burners do work. They only work in conjunction with a good exercise and diet plan. There are a couple of different ways that they do this one of which is making dietary fats more available for use as an energy source. There are heaps of different claims like increasing liver function etc. The best thing to do is find what is right for you nutritionally.

Why isnt this suprising?

Remove correct diet and fitness training, and FB's wont do squat for tissue loss, by itself. While correct diet and fitness training can provide fat loss together by themselves. :)

Please provide creditable support for this claim. :)

I agree with chillen. They have little or no effect, insignificant.
Not to mention many detrimental side effects to health like malabsorption.

How bout the musashi bottle developed by doctors for the australian institute of sport that I just read it off :D

Well I have done some reading on this subject

e.g.

The general consensus is that there is not enough research done on this particular subject to fully rule them out as working. What I am going on is first hand experience with a flatmate who was a bodybuilder. He followed the same diet and exercise program for the same comp two years running. The year he used the supplements he clocked in a percent lower body fat (measured by a olympic certified anthropometrist) I think it was 1.6% off the top of my head. He weighed in the same for both comps both years and he swears by them if he just needs that extra push.

When there is not a large ammount of reseach I like to keep an open mind about things.

Oh and that bottle is OLD I keep change in it. Its from about 1996 before musashi became a profit organisation and broke into the market mainly for profit.

You would think though if these supplements did work then it would already be a proven fact and all people aiming to lose weight would be using them and you could imagine how much money the companies would make billions and billions.

Diet and on the other hand are both proven and significant in weight loss. If you cant do these two things then what chance do the supplements have.

In my opinion anyway id stick with both diet and exercise, the side effects are actually beneficial!

I fully agree but what Im saying is that in some extreme cases (e.g. Bodybuilding) they may have an effect. Anyway I think we all agree that diet and exercise are the way to go.

Lipo-6 seems to be effective. Haven't tried it but there are so many people that swear on it.
