discomfort/pain after running.

well ive been training for my SEAL screening i failed the run by 1 minute.(12:34 was my time i have 11:30) its in boots and pants. anyway ive been hitting the run pretty hard monday -friday today i will take a recovery day.

last night i felt this pain/discomfort after i stopped running is this normal? actually i wouldnt call it pain just very uncomfortable.

its n my knees and it just feels like preasure i thoguthit was join pain but ive come to believe it is the muscles that support the joint because if i touch it or push into the muscle it hurts more. there is no visible swelling or fluid build up. is there maybe fluid built up in my joint that takes time to disapate? it feels fine after say 30-45 minutes of rest. and there is no pain at all the next day. is this just my body getting used to running in the boots? i had this feelign before when i first started rrunnign in shoes but it went away.

also if im running 1.5 -2 mi. sun -frday is this too much shoudl i break it up in the middle instead of 6 days straight?

it probably is just the boots making your legs work slightly differently from your natural running style. don't worry too much about it. plus you have been going hard for 5 days in a row.

something I do if I know I'm going to push myself for a number of consecutive days (or after and 10mile+ run), is to get in a cold bath a few hours after the run and sit there for 5-10 minutes. This contracts all your muscles and joints and they are less sore the next day. Of course, it is agony the first few times you try it, but once you get used to the freezing cold feeling, you actually quite like it and can relax a lot more.

as far as the distance on sun, post the distances/speeds you have been running all during the week so I know better.

good luck,
sean

dinstance

i started monday with 1 mi. and friday was 1.5

i have a problem with endurance in the boots. iseemed to be super tred after 1 mi and my pace suffered drastically. so i decided to work on keeping the pace for longe instead of runnint eh whole distance at a slower pace and then trying to speed up the pace later. i felt my body woudl have already developed a rythm and it would be very hard to try adn knock 1min+ off my pace.

i need to have my run under 11:30 for my test. and friday i got down i did 1.5mi. in 11:34 so im definatly showing improvement. a whole minute since my monday 1.5 was 12:32.

i plan on taking today (saturday) off and sunday start increasing my dstance to 2 mi. time goal is 15 mins.
