I think the best way to describe my situation is static.

During my quest for health, I've been dilligent....tenacious. I say this because my body never changes, never. It seems that no matter what I throw at it my body has it's own ideas about what shape it will maintain. My wits end is finally in sight and I'm afraid that if I can't produce some kind of change, my motivation will leave me.

Before I trouble anyone with my specifics, I would like to get your advice...

Certainly people, who "have tried everything", end up here. Maybe you are one of those people. Perhaps you can suggest some posts for me to read that have helped you when you thought there was nothing left to try.

I just don't want to ask the same old questions...

----------------------------------------------------------
My stats:
height: 5' 1"
weight: 150lbs
regimin: 3 days a week cardio(interval training-morning)
oposite 3 days weight training(morning) - cycling(evening)
diet: vegetarian
5 meals per day(spaced 3hrs)
1550-1600 calories
15% protein - 55% carbs - 30% fat
supps: women's multi
EFA(omega3-6-9)
duration: I've been doing this religiously for over a year...and nothing

One of the things i might suggest for you is to keep a food journal and make certain that the calories that you think you are getting, are in fact what you are getting... that would include measuring out foods as well....

Have you checked measurements and are your measurements actually changing (weight is but a number on a scale)

Welcome to the forum, tryinhard!! In looking at your stats, my first thought, liked Mal, is to check your caloric intake. Just because you're vegetarian does NOT mean you aren't getting too many. My second thought would be on the carbs. My nutritionist had me eating more protein than carbs - have you thought of upping the protein and dropping the carbs a little? The way it was explained to me is Carbs=Energy. You need less energy as your day gets closer to the end and therefore closer to bed time. Just a thought :D Also, do you drink a lot of juice, diet soda, or club soda? all contain sodium which causes water retention. ALso, juice contains a lot of sugar, natural and otherwise, that add up.

Hope it helps :D IF you need/ want to, feel free to PM me:D

Thank you. Your comments are greatly appreciated.

My caloric intake is very tightly regimented. My husband, bless his heart, helps me so much. Once a month, using his skills in the kitchen, he prepares 5-6 large meals. From these meals, we calculate the total calories and macronutrient ratios, then divy the meals into portions that meet my requirements(ratios in my stats above). Then the portions are frozen for nightly consumption.

Neither of us are dieticians...so, admittedly, our ratios my be off.

Here's the big catch though. Pointed out by my dearest. I(we, he takes these steps too) am employing many tactics that are proven to reduce weight, make changes, and eventually lead to a healthier end result. It's easy to get caught up in tweaking the minutia, especially since the regimin is so highly metered. The catch as he says, is that taking any one of these steps, for anybody else, would lead to dramatic changes...in my body we have seen none.

With the entire picture in front of you, the natural inclination is to assume that following the steps I follow, would lead to something, anything...but they have led me nowhere...

Three years of deprivation, intense workouts, adjustments, and no change. I'm really close to saying, "you know what, it's pointless, I quit."

I'm hoping there is something obvious we are missing. Trainers tell me to do the things I'm already doing. The Doc tells me to do the things that I'm already doing. How frustrating...those things don't work, do they? Maybe they are assuming that I know some obvious intricacy that goes without saying...

Considering my diet and exercise regimine, can anyone think of a reason why I've seen zero progress?

That was long...sorry I went off...and Thank You... again
