Digestive enzymes

Just looking to see if anyone took any, and noticed a difference.

I just returned from a week long business trip, and it always screws with my stomach when I'm off clean eating that long. So I'm looking for ideas to help my digestion out while I'm traveling.

I'm aware of products like Greens+ and in the past I've tried papaya extract, but I'm looking for some real life experiences...good or bad.

I've used a number of different digestive enzymes and haven't been overly impressed. I do at times use protease when I jack up my protein consumption and have taken papaya after over eating.

If you're stomach is messed up, I'd look at taking a probiotic. If you did so, I'D use the Healthy Trinity kind.

I've noticed a big difference when taking them with a meal that contains very little enzymes (especially since I tend to overeat at times.)

It is wise to choose a company who's enzymes are active throughout a wide ph level (Flora Health is one such company). As mentioned, a good probiotic will also benefit you as well...Pete

so a probiotic must be the opposite of an antibiotic...and what...it just helps 'reinforce' the bacteria already in the gut, so they aren't overwhelmed when you switch from unprocessed foods to highly processed foods?

interestingly enough, my wife today is showing the same signs I did on Saturday, but she didn't go on my business trip with me, so she shouldn't be suffering from 'bad food'...so I must've picked up some kinda bug and gave it to her.

odd.

The body should(if you’re healthy) produce more enzymes than you’ll ever need really, but Ive heard of people who felt supplements helped them so still worth a try maybe.

Yeah - That or she was spying on you!!!

My sis took digestive enzymes for a couple of years, They really helped her out, but that was only because she was not producing them herself, due to bad diet thru puberty.

Yup, yogurt is a natrual probiotic. Although probably not nearly as effective as store bought.

In hindsight, I would've put more emphasis on probiotics in the paper I wrote that's stickied above us.

Some studies (out of thousands)

Some info about probiotics and the different strains

well my stomach issue was definitely some kind of bug, as my wife has full blown symptoms like I had Friday/Saturday, starting yesterday. She had to come home from work sick today.
fun stuff.
