Hi,


I'm a 6ft, 35 year old male. I'm new to dieting so pls forgive obvious questions:


My weight on Sunday 15th July was 235 pounds (gained mainly from ale, cake and chocolate), my activity level is Sedentary (computer specalist working from home). Apparently (according to my phone app) my Basal Metabolic calorie rate is 2171, and my weight maintenance calorie rate is 2980 (just noticed doing the sums manually that the app has adjusted my activity level to light given the weight maintenance calorie rate - confirmed the numbers on that basis using the calculations provided here).


On the 22nd July my weight was down to 230 pounds. Mid last week it was down to 229 pounds. Now its 231 pounds.


My calorie count since the 15th has not been over 2000 and most days i've been doing 30mins 'aerobic excercise ' (jogging/boxing) on the Nintendo wii.


I've removed cake/chocolate from my diet - and now eating fruits for snacks such as apple/banana/pear/watermelon. And I have only had 2 ale's in just over 2 weeks...


Questions


1) Why hasn't my weight continued to drop at a steady curve? Whilst its only been 2 weeks I've already noticed that excercise is getting easier (can run harder/longer)....


2) What can cause weight gain in the above situation? Muscles increasing in my legs or other?


3) Is this situation normal?

Post what you eat and the exact amount. Don't say 'a little bit of carbs' or 'some oil in my salad.' Thanks!


Fruits are healthy, yes. But you must take into consideration their carb content.

125 ml Semi skimmed milk = 60cals


Lunch

2x slices wholemeal bread 80g = 185 cals

sliced beef 40g = 60 cals

1x medium apple = 80 cals

1x banana 101g = 90 cals

1x watermelon 200g = 60 cals


Dinner

150g half fat sausages = 278 cals

pasta 80g = 216 cals

red pepper 119g = 23 cals

onion 50g = 20 cals

tin tomato 50g = 8 cals


Snacks

watermelon 400g = 120 cals

orange + sultana crispy slices = 148 cals

125 semi skimmed milk = 60 cals

Instant coffee = 3 teaspoons (unknown).
