Dieting for 6 weeks with NO luck!

HELP! I'll take any advice you may have. I had a baby 8 weeks ago. I'm not nursing, so I started a diet 6 weeks ago. I have 15lbs of pure fat I need to lose - I lost all the water weight 1 week after giving birth. I eat around 1,200 calories a day. I try to eat a protein, fiber & calcium at every meal and a piece of fruit or a bowl of fiber cereal for snack. I've been eating like this for 6 weeks with no luck on the scale - not even 1 lb! As a matter of fact, I even gained 1-2lbs! I just got clearance from my doctor to begin exercising and have been for the last 2 weeks. I do about 20-30 min of cardio, 200 sit-ups and 10 minutes of pilates almost every day, while eating 1,200 calories. I drink 6-8 glasses of water every day and I drink 2oz of acai puree every morning. No matter what I do, I can't lose weight! I even tried shifting my calorie intake for about 1 week or so. I need to go back to work in 3 weeks and NOTHING fits me! I'm miserable and depressed. I'm working so hard and being very diligent about eating healthy and exercising I just can't understand why I can't lose any weight! Do I need to increase my exercise? I won't reduce my calorie intake below 1,200. Please, any advice or help? I'm desperate.

Anyone out there have advice??

Have you looked through the 'new moms' section? That's probably one of the best places to find info on losing weight after giving birth on this forum. There's a lot of good info posted in the stickied posts in the different sections... especially in the 'On Topic' section and the 'Weight Loss Through Exercise' section.

It could be your body is still recovering from giving birth. Its only been 8 weeks, yes? Seemed it took my sister in law a bit longer to recover after #2 than it did #1... but I know everybody is different.

And no, don't cut your caloric intake too far. That could be counter-productive to what you are trying to achieve, as well was unhealthy. Lean proteins, veggies & fruits, complex carbs (like whole grains)... these are what the bulk of your caloric intake should be.
