My sister has hit a wall on the whole weight-loss deal. She's done really well, dropped 35 pounds in about a year, but now she's hit that plateau. She can't get passed 122. She's 5ft 2in, and wants to be around 115, but those last 7lbs are very elusive to her.
She had been doing the same workout for about a year when she lost those 35 lbs, and when she stopped losing weight she started getting frustrated, so I told her to change her workout. I suggested following crossfit.com's workouts, which is what I do, and I <3. So she's been doing those workouts for two months now and still...122lbs. I am thinking it is her diet, I don't think she eats enough, and I was reading the weightloss forums and it seems that in order to lose weight, you need to eat around 1500 cal...she probably eats around 1000-1200.
So basically, I was wondering if you all could take a look at her diet.
That includes her breakfast, lunch, and a spinach salad+carrots+dressing for dinner. There is also the main course, which is usually some type of meat but it is always grilled on the George Foreman and made as "healthy" as possible + another side like potatoes, applesauce, etc. So, I don't think she is eating enough.
Basically, and evaluation of her eating habits is what we're looking for. Is she getting enough protein? The workouts on crossfit.com can be pretty intense...I don't know that she is getting enough nutrients to recover completely.
If she isn't eating enough, could you please offer some suggestions on what she should eat? Or if something on there should be replaced by something else, please let us know.
