Hello

So Hi, i am new. Just started today "BRO RAWR', In-case anyone is curious i am a Male, 5'9, and 225 LBS, was at 300 LBS, was at 200 LBS as well, but then i i decided to take a break for about a year and i gained 25 unwanted pounds

Anyways i got a steady diet / Exercise routine that i do and know works for me. But my main concern is the liquid i am consuming

Basically, like everyone else.. I want to lose weight ASAP. So i am starting a new rule, and this is.. DRINK NO CALORIES.

Basically this means anything that tastes good, and has 0 calories. Ill drink. I have 2 primary sodas / a Energy drink i consume that contains 0 calories. First is..

Sprite Zero

2nd. Coke Zero (i like to switch between these 2)

3rd my non soda type drink. Powerade Zero Mixed Berry

Basically what concerns me is how will this effect me weight loss wise. I really do not care if it has like a HIGH chance at cancer or rots your teeth or something in the lines of that, Really the only thing that concerns me is do any of these have a sorta "Hidden" ingredient or something that will slow your weight loss down?

Like everyone else, i was pretty much taught that if it has 0 calories, its good for a diet, but i just wanna get some clarification from you guys if you know anything on this

Basically my routine goes as followed

For breakfast ill drink the Powerade zero

For launch and dinner i drink Either the Sprite Zero or the Coke zero, (i like having the sodaish taste when i eat soda related food basically xD) And when I'm thirsty and not eating anything its either water or the Powerade Zero

Thanks in advance

AI lost 68 in four months, and I drank diet coke and coke zero. You should drink a TON of water, but having some diet soda in there doesn't hurt. The only time it truly hurts is when you're drinking that, and not getting enough water. Take your weight, divide it in half. Roughly 100, 105, right? That's how many ounces of water you should be drinking. I have a big jug that is 74.4 oz. I use that as my guide. I drink one of those a day, then drink crystal lite and coke zero. If you don't.like the taste of water....oh well. Drive k it anyway. You're drinking to hydrate, not for entertainment. Lol.
So...no. Diet soda itself will not crash your diet. I found it to be a life saver when I wanted a soda, but didn't want to fall back into the regular soda trap.
Hope that helps!

Diet Soda is very unhealthy for you. There are whole bunch of studies of diet soda, and that it could be just as bad regular soda. Maybe you wont get any calories from it, but you can get very sick from the fake sweeteners. If you consume too much, expect to be very tired.

In a study, artificial sugar tricks the brain into thinking you're still hungry. Which causes to eat more.

"Fowler and her team studied more than 1500 people between the ages of 25 and 64, looking at whether each consumed regular or diet soft drinks. It was no surprise to find a correlation between the daily consumption of multiple cans of all soft drinks and obesity — which they did. But, as Fowler noted, “What was surprising was when we looked at people only drinking diet soft drinks; their risk of obesity was even higher†[than that of those drinking regular soft drinks]. In fact, Fowler found that for each can of diet soft drink consumed per day, the risk of obesity went up by 41%." (http://www.womentowomen.com/healthyweight/dietsoda.aspx)

"Another study, this one in the Annals of Epidemiology last year, found that adults with diabetes who drank one or more drinks of diet soda per day had A1C levels was 0.7 percent higher than those who drank none."(http://www.healthcentral.com/diabetes/c/17/15880/trouble-diet-soda)

"A study published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine suggests that drinking diet sodas daily increases your chances of having a vascular event. Vascular events are blood vessel related incidents and include heart attack, stroke and vascular death. The results of the study showed that those who drank diet sodas daily had a 43 percent increased chance of suffering a vascular event than those who drank no diet sodas. Interestingly enough, it was also found that those who drank regular sodas had no increased chance of suffering a vascular" event."(http://biology.about.com/b/2012/01/31/diet-sodas-linked-to-vascular-trouble.htm)

If you really want to lose weight, drink water ( 8 cups a day ( 250ml = a 1 cup)) Or have fresh fruit smoothies.

I only drink water and it does wonders to my skin, to my energy and to my weightloss.

AGuess what? I like diet soda. I don't smoke, drink alcohol, or do drugs. I gave up most sugar, which included regular soda. I doubt that the one 12oz can of diet soda I have a day has enough aspartame to give me cancer.

Go judge someone else.
