So i am 16 years old and live at home currently going to high school so i cant go out and buy specific stuff for my diet and have to live with what i got however i can persuade my parents to buy a little bit for me. I am just wondering a few things/suggestions you can give me. First off is breakfast what is an ideal breakfast that can be made quick and easily
by the way i need 1,800 calories a day just so you know. Second question is for lunchs, well when i take lunchs to school i usually bring water and a sandwhich but im just wondering if you guys know whats a good meat i can put on my sandwich's and what kind of condiments/stuff you can put on it that is not too unhealthy. Third is snacks, what would you suggest as snacks, i have fruit and i have some nuts at my house, i have tuna.. salmon (Canned) lots of stuff. if you guys could just make some suggestions that would be great!

Thanks guys!

well for breakfast you could have some kind of cerial like Total or Cheerios. I like to have a banana sliced in my cerial. You could have some eggs with yogurt and an apple?? Oatmeals good too...but you have to really watch that, you'd have to get as close to whole natural oatmeal as possible. Alot of those flavored oatmeal are high in sugar!

I think as far as meat goes, chicken and turkey are the best for you. Lowest in fat and high in protein.

As far as snacks go..fruits and veggies are best! baby carrots and grapes or whatever you like. I know its not realistic that you'll only eat fruits and veggies, so you could have um, maybe a cheesestick? I know some people will disagree with me, but I think there is nothing wrong with those 100 cal packs as long as you don't let yourself fall into the trap of having 2 or 3 b/c they are low cal.

Get your parents to buy you more fresh produce!! Things like Apples and oranges, bananas are inexpensive, lots in the bag, and they are easy to grab on the go. That way u won't skip breakfast. VERY IMPORTANT for a young girl like yourself!! Try looking for healthy choices in your school cafateria too!! They should have salad or fresh veggy options these days!!
Use your text books as great weights, lord knows they are heavy enough!! (I rememberthose days VERY well)

At a such a young age, there is no need for you to be "dieting" you should be working towards living a healthier lyfestyle, The rest will fall into place, little one!!

My suggestions for easy breakfasts - somewhat depends on how many calories you want for breakfast, but here are some easy suggestions.

Plain oatmeal, or weight control oatmeal (the weight control adds protein powder & fiber and doesn't add sugar)
Plain Greek yogurt with fruit (blueberries, frozen pomegranate, strawberries etc.)
Protein smoothie - protein powder + frozen fruit + water in blender.
An apple and some cottage cheese

Your meals should all have some protein and fiber. So an apple + cheese is good, just an apple less so. I usually have a small amount of Greek yogurt with my oatmeal just for a little extra protein. If you have more time you can just scramble some eggs, veggies & cheese together - pretty simple.
