Well hello everybody!

I never thought the day would come when I would have my very own diet diary. I have been reading everybody elses diaries for as long as I can remember and I find it inspirational. I have chosen this new path and I know I am going to succeed and I hope that somebody can follow my journey and also find success. Like everybody else I have tried everything and the Dr Cohen diet is my last resort. I have read how other people have done it and I do not see why it cannot be me!!!! I am going to try to keep a diary twice a week until I finally get what I have wished a lifetime for. I know that happiness should not lie in weight but I think if I am thinner and more in control of my life happiness will follow. I have had the blood test yesterday and enrolled....so now I just have to wait until I get my diet back from Dr Cohen. Next time you hear from me it will be Day One.............me me.

I just posted a code which is hopefully my ticker..haha..I will go back to look at my post to see if a cute flower ticker is actually there...who knows!!

Within the next 2 years: I will be goal weight, have my private pilots licence, be a super salsa dancing expert and (well why not) also a belly dancer and most importantly I am going to be HAPPY.

Oh my word I am such a girl....I need all the motivation I can get...and just found this quote so:.....me again!!

Hey MissKris, thanks so much for responding to my diary. It is so so nice to have you support me. All I want in life is to be comfortable and not to have pain walking upstairs and with genral day to day living. My main goal is just to feel okay. P.s like the ticker pais of heels haha ultra cute. Wow you are so close to your goal, you must feel amazing!! Thanks again for the support.

Loreal welcome to the forum & congratulations on taking the steps to being a participant, rather than an observer. I like that you are starting out being so positive & confident. That augers well for your success. I will enjoy following your progress & the joy that will bring!

That is so true! We are all different ages, come from different backgrounds, different countries, yet we all share common views & experiences & we can all benefit from one another's support. Once again Loreal a very big welcome to our community. I look forward to getting to know you better, xo Cate

Hi Angel_SA,

Excellent to know there are other people from Joburg on this forum. Thanks for the message. So you are starting Monday!! I think I may start Tuesday but the lady at the one clinic said she hoped my diet would be there then. I am just going to have the explanation tomorrow. I hope I can start though. I know, it is only to just feel comfortable and not always pulling on clothes and not just doing what you want and wearing whatever you want. What did you find made you fall off the last time? What were the obstacles? I am glad we are starting in the same week. We can motivate each other!! Chat soon.

Hey Loreal,

Yay day 1 for me and so far so good, just wrote a more detailed post in my diary.

I think it will be great for us to motivate each other especially cause we will be experiencing most things at the same time and the dreadfull first weekend, hehehe.

I think the first time I did the diet i just totally lost the plot, i became fanatical about everything and obessed way too much about all the food etc that i ate, i was doing really really well in the beginning and then i had 1 cheat then another cheat and it all just snow balled after that.

I feel this time around i am more prepared and my mind set is right now for it, and like you all i want is to feel good about myself and be able to look good in whatever i wear and not always be self conscious around friends and family.

I hope you get your plan today or tomorrow and you must keep me updated as to where you are, we are definitely going to come out of this feeling great!!

Take care

Hey Mands, thanks do much for reading my diary!! So I am now on Day one and have had a good start. I am just trying to get through each day at a time. I do not want to go off the course at all and I need to stick it out.

How are you going? you must be about on Day 9? How is it. I think it will be nice to chat to you as we started at a similar time. Were you tempted to cheat?

Thanks for also saying you will support me. I have tried a lot and I really feel that I need to find support as this is my LAST DIET.

Thanks and chat soon!!! Loreal

Day one: 27th january 2010 (wednesday)

Good morning everybody!!

Thanks everybody for all the support and feedback I have received since my first post.

Well......I STARTED TODAY!!......DAY ONE!!!...........hope fully my first month will fly by. I know that you should never will away time but I really just want to do this 100% and I think everyday for me is going to be a battle. I have made it with 100% until 11.39 am today and I intend to finish the day with 100%.

I was quite surprised with the amount of food. I thought it was going to be less. I think the food is enough to get me through the day. The really hard bit is being organised and making sure I do not eat anything that I was eating until today.

I am going to keep telling myself that I will be kind to my body. My weight for starting was 149.1 kg and I am hoping to be at the top of that diet statistic at 20kg in the first month!! Well here is hoping....

I am going to post a weekly report but I am only going to weigh myself monthly. Hmmmmm not sure if that is possible but luckily my home scale is really stupid.

So here is to a 100 % week which includes a wedding on Saturday (will figure out that one closer to Saturday).

Pop in soon.....Loreal

Cate, thanks for the very warm welcome. I know that I have read all the different diet diaries and they helped me to see that every person is going through something similar. It is difficult for each person to follow this path of getting off the weight. It is so easy to keep piling the kgs on but it takes something to get it off. I have gained so much knowledge from each persons diary. I also look forward to getting to know you. Day one........its tough but I think it gets easier the longer a person lasts. Thanks again Loreal xoxo

Angel_SA: So you are about on Day 4 now? How is it going? Your post was day one. It feels like a mountain ahead but like you said I am going to try to not let food be the only thought on my mind. I am also going to have mini goals like get through day one, the Day one-seven, then the first two weeks and then the first month. My goal right now is to get through today being Day One. I am glad we are starting at just about the same time. The food is so different from the way I eat normally and I need to mentally adjust to a life with vegetable in it haha. Well hope you are doing brilliantly. The lady in charge at my clinic said that most people reach their goals in six months. I want this for myself or close to it. Good luck. xoxox Loreal

Hi Loreal!

Eek - I just wrote a whole post and then accidently pressed back and its now gone! Gosh I hate when that happens. So here I go again!

So how did Day 1 go? You must be on about Day 5 now? So you would have completed one of your mini goals and nearly number 2 of getting through week 1! Its a great idea to set yourself mini goals...and then you're able to pat yourself on the back regularly for succeeding!

It only takes a couple of weeks to break old habits and get into a new one - so it will not be long before the cohens way of living becomes your way of living and you will never look back. You'll start to feel all of the benefits this program has to offer - not just the weight loss but your skin and hair will be feeling great, you'll be sleeping great (and not need as much sleep either!!) and feeling a lot more energetic! I can't wait to hear you tell us all when you're in that zone and feeling that cohens 'balance'!!! You sure will know when you're there..........

Keep up the great work and hope that you're able to pop by again soon and let us know how week 1 has gone!

Bye for now
K xo

Hey Loreal, how's it going? You are just a little over 2 weeks now on Cohens. Are you getting the hang of it? You havent posted for a while?
