How many days can you go with NO DEVIATIONS???

I deviated yesterday by going out to breakfast and having a soy-milk coffee. There's no better time to start counting! :iagree:

How many days can you guys go? The hardest part for me will no doubt be the eating out thing... But hopefully this will help keep me motivated!

Good luck! :Angel_anim:

:p

mmm.. well this thread is a little "de ja vu" for me... ha ha ha ha...
i have not deviated since November 24th ... survived christmas and new year ... Saturday just gone was my mums 50th birthday and i survived baking, serving and cleaning...... However i am exhuasted and tonight i really wanted to eat all the crap i have around for the kids..... Thus far i have not submitted....Now its late and i wont but arghhhhhh........

Anyway lots to catch up on....

Wow Chelle! That's nearly two months deviation free!! really well done :) surviving christmas, new year AND baking a cake? seriously - you have super will power. I admire it!

I admit I was deviating slightly last week by adding the smallest amount of milk(1 tsp) in my coffee when I realised how stupid I was been having such a small amount. Anyway been drinking my coffee black this week so I would have to say 4 days deviation free!!

What is a deviation? Is it eating a hundred calories over our daily limit? Is it binge eating and going 100s over your daily limits?

I think these are important to answer because if you are worried about eating a treat and going over by a little, you are worrying too much. Yes, if you binge and eat A LOT over then you need to figure out what is causing it. Are you board, mad, angry or whatever? Figure out why and try to avoid those situations.

Stay motivated, you can do this.

****sorry i just realized this is the cohen thread. not sure if my logic applies*****

Thats alright Matt, whilst reading your post I thought you musn't have realised it was a Cohen's thread!! Though I can see the logic in your thinking!! Thanks.

I'm going to have to deviate today. :svengo:

I have netball at 7pm tonight and I NEED TO EAT before I leave. But I'm not due to have dinner until 7pm... hmm... So I've decided that I'll have my dinner in the car on the way there, fifteen minutes early. This still counts as a deviation, right?

grr... I've been trying so hard!

does anyone know if, in a situation such as this, it is better to eat two meals at just a little under 5 hours apart, or one meal 4 hours after the last one... did that make sense?

And yes, in future, I will set my alarm in in the morning to beware of these issues.

Decisionmaker- well named as we often have to make a decision & try to achieve a balance. By eating your dinner earlier than the 5hrs you will be eating well before you go to bed so there will be that as compensation. Don't fret over it. No-one's perfect. It is hard to time meals perfectly.
One thing to consider if at any time this situation may occur again is to have the same protein for your next meal. That way you will not be mixing proteins.
It shouldn't affect the scales too much, cheers, cate.

Hi Chelle,
I'm with you - 2 and a half weeks in and not a deviation ever! I'm happy with that! Yesterday I was starving all day and it was tough -no thought of deviating but oh my!!
Broke my own vow not to weigh till Wednesday but happily down another kilo!!:)
Good on you for not deviating -lets get rid of these kgs together!!

Hi everyone, I am also on Cohen, my second time.

This thread is so great because today I have started my 3-day no deviation challenge. It is at the end of day 1 for me and I am glad to say I have not deviated (that is a big achievement for me).

I know 3 days sounds too low a target for a challenge but I have thought I should take baby steps so that I can psych myself up.

I do want to this to the end this time. I am still way off but every day is a day closer to my goal weight.

Cheers

3 days doesnt sound like a low target!! We all know how hard that first week is and how difficult it is not to deviate!!
Keep it up, we will all get there soon enough!!

I even break it down to hours sometimes!
I got through that 5 hours until my next meal was due-well done!
I watched those people eating (insert whatever) & I didn't have even one!
Every hour, every day, every week that you don't deviate, brings you so much closer to your goal weight & you should give yourself a big pat on the back!
It also is very good for your self-esteem when you learn....
I can do this!!!
Baby steps are good, cheers, cate.

Hiya GJ!

How is your deviation challenge going? It's great to make yourself such a concrete goal.

It seems that the loss and the time it will take is just too much to think about sometimes. I've realised that the weeks where I do the best are the weeks when I really focus on taking it one day at a time. Every single day that I make through without a deviation is a real achievement. And like Cate says, breaking it down to 5 hour slots is a great idea too!

Good luck!

thanks decisionmaker, I completed my 1st 3 day challenge successfully - absolutely no deviation but when I went to weigh on SundayI found I had only lost a measly 700g. I have been thinking that it might be because I started Taebo as well - so I will not do it until after Wednesady and see what the scale says.

I am in my 2nd 3 day challenge. I have decided every day I fail, I cancel the previous achievement. But I must be honest it is really hard.

I need to have lost at least 5kg by 5 February. And with all the deviations, I have almost shot myself in the foot.

GJ, Try not to put so much pressure on yourself. Go with the flow. Follow Cohen's 100% & you will lose all the weight you want to but don't even try to hurry it up. You will get there! Cheers, Cate.

sorry guys fixed my last post..

Still 100% cohens.. no deviations since novemeber 24th 2008 ... yippeee.....
Gjeans we are all guilty of erasing our past failures.. what a big and positive step you are taking in acknowledging it and continuing....keep it up

Chelle since 28 November 2008 - that is amazing. Keep it up. My day 2 has been really bad, I lost count of the provitas that I ate in a spate of stress - it is so stressful here at work, so many balls in the air and I am feeling overwhelmed. So day 1 starts again tomorrow - aaargh!
