Desperate for advice

Hey. I need some advice.

So I currently do my cardio in the way of 30-40 minutes of running (on the spot) every day. Consistant running is difficult with my asthma, although I manage through it.

Now to food. I know I shouldn't be doing this, but I only eat 1 meal per day. I keep reading about the "small frequent meals" method, but for some reason I feel terrified of doing this. Whenever I consider it I just can't decide on what I'd eat and what are the right things etc. Afraid of gaining weight and so on. When I eat I usually have things like pasta or rice, or jacket potato. Are these the wrong foods to be eating? I know they are high in carbs. It should be noted I eat about 6ish. Although this may be just a small thing I'm desperate so every detail I want to care to.

Basically, I really want to trim my sides and belly. I heard belly fat is the hardest to lose? I start Uni soon, so I'm hoping to make good use of the treadmill at the gym.

I've been doing my running for two weeks now, and although I thought I made some progress at the end of the first week, I'm becoming disheartened because I'm not seeing anything happening now (Which I know is a bit silly). I really need some advice on meals, when to eat, when to run, how long for etc and some encouragement would be great. It's really effecting me when I go out with friends etc I feel so low on confidence.

Also what role does sleep play in weight loss?

Anyway thanks for reading, this is such a great site for everybody, and any advice is appreciated.

Ant.

Spend some time reading the great advice that's offered in the stickied threads - especially in the On Topic, Nutrition and Exercise forums - do spend some time inOn Topic wiht the words of Wisdom thread -there's a lot of good info out there for you to use...

What are you expecting to get out of the one meal a day?

The biggest factor in weight loss is nutrition - pure and simple - - when they're eaten, is less relevant however some people feel better on 5 small meals others prefer the 3 meal approach -it's about what's satisfying to you... Get an account at or one ofthe 100s of sites on the web to track nutrition and learn about portions and what an accurate portion is..

sleep plays a factor in your body and how you're feeling and your ability to work harder...

I know I shouldn't, but at the same time I am afraid to eat more calories. My mum says I have a disorder lol. I was thinking of just eating 2 meals of fruit, then something in the evening. What would be the best evening foods to eat?

You need to start reading the stickied threads....

what you think is good for you isn't close to reality

if you 're afraid to eat more calories -why are you afraid?

If your mother thinks yu have a disorder? do yo? why aren't you getting help for it then?

To be honest, it's mainly because I don't know what to eat other than fruit. Laugh at me for being ill-informed but at the end of the day, I read so much about dieting and burning fat that I don't know what to believe. It gets on top of me and I don't make the change because I'm scared that it's the wrong one. I don't neccecarily want to lose weight, but I just want to lose fat around my stomach.
Will start reading the stickies too.

Check my homepage see if it does any help.
