dehydration

I don't know the answer to your question. But I do know that by the time you are feeling dehydrated, it's too late, your bodies already there. Also, if you have to ask if your dehydrated, you probobly are NOT drinking enough water. Drink more, your body will thank you.

the reason i ask is because a friend says thats how she can tell if she has had enough water during the day before she goes for a run on an evening

Wondered if she is right or not

well the veins swell mostly to bring more nutrients (mostly O2) to the muscles, and other body parts. but veins popping out isnt a sign of dehydration.. a person who is not dehydrated has veins that pop right back in place when you press gently on them. if you look at the back of your hand, you can see where the blood vessels sort of sit up above the skin. when a person is dehydrated, using your thumb and pointer finger, pinch the skin together on the back of the hand to form a peak.. ina person who is suffering dehydration, the peak will stay up in the peak position about twice as long as the skin of a person who is not dehydrated.. The reason for this is the volume of blood in the blood vessels and volume of fluid in the tissues under the skin is insufficient to stretch the skin back to it's normal place :D weird science fact of the day..

...yeah, and you'll be thirsty too!!!
