Sport Decreasing Appetite

Hello!

Over the last few days I've been noticing a decrease in my appetite, especially after lunch. I modified my diet a little about 3 weeks ago (lowered carbs and increased protein / veggies) and I don't know if this is some sort of side effect, since I feel the fullest when I eat carbs. I normally take 4-5 meals a day, but lately I've not been wanting to eat my 3:00 pm meal.

My question is, should I pay more attention to the caloric intake I am aiming towards or to what my body is telling me?

Thank you for your help!

stick to your goals, not hunger or a lack thereof.

reducing high GI carb intake can lead to better blood sugar balance. when blood sugar rises and then drops quickly, we tend to become hungry because the body wants to regulate the blood sugar (raise it a bit).

your body's probably just finally stabilized. reap the benefits, but don't cut too many calories or you'll starve.

Too low carbs throws your body into ketosis, a side effect of this, is lack of appetite, at the same time, protein keeps you fuller for longer, so this explains lack of appetite (something i NEED)

I dont see it to be an issue as long as your being sensible.

Thanks for the replies! Would it be a good idea to substitute that meal for, say, a protein shake?? It won't make me feel that full and will give my body some cals to keep the metabolism up. Right?

:p Yeah, I know it's not that bad but at the same time, I don't want to go too low on my calories. I don't want my metabolism to slow down at all.
