Decongestant

I'm going to work out later today, but I've been fighting a minor cold for the past few weeks that has now turned into a more major cold just a few days after I decided to take it easy til I got over this thing. So I'm wondering, if it's ok for me to take a decongestant before working out, or if it would be too dangerous because decongestants raise your blood pressure.

depends, if its free of pseudoephedrine then it won't be cause for any concern.

even if it is pseudoephedrine, its gonna behave like ephedra, so a slight increase in blood pressure is not a problem for healthy people to begin with.

just don't push yourself really really hard, you're ill after all, and the body has to cope with that first and foremost.

This odd cold of mine, seems to disappear when I work out hard... it only came on stronger when I backed off thinking that I should rest. Take today for example, this morning I was all clogged up and hacking up phlem... then I did the beginner HIIT routine (except for 30 second sprints because I can't seem to get enough oxygen with my lungs still filled with phlem), and ever since I've been able to breathe freely through my nose.

Anyway, I didn't take any decongestant that day because I forgot to run by the store, but it worked out ok, since everything cleared up while I was lifting weights.
