Days off... eat less?

On days off from regular exercize, for whatever reason, should one further reduce calories? It would make sense to do so, but I am asking the experts for confirmation.

Also, are days off from cardio good days for resistance?

I will do a search as well... but all answers here are appreciated!

No, you don't need to reduce calories further. As been pointed out many times, as long as you are eating less than maintenance, you will lose weight. Burning more calories through exercise is just bonus. Don't cut calories too low!

I've wondered this from a training/building perspective. I mean, if you aren't trying to lose anymore weight and are in a training stage yet don't want to gain any fat, if you take a day off, should you eat less? If you are worn out and sore on that day off, I'm afraid cutting would hamper your body's recovery efforts, yet I feel weird eating as much as normal on an off day. So basically at this point I just don't eat the usualy high amount of carbs.

I actually eat less on non-training days. However, it is not a necessity. Also, in response to you Corn, even on my lower, non-training day intake, I am still in a caloric surplus.

Your body builds outside of the gym, so you have to be overfed still if we are speaking of muscle building.

Thanks so much.
I am thinking, I want to do SOMETHING later this evening... maybe I will do some stretching or yoga. But it's good to know to stick to the same caloric intake.
