Hello everyone!
My name is Cody and I'm a student at the University of Oregon. I have just today tried to restart my diet in an effort to lose the pounds and gain back my old self-esteem. I lost 80 pounds one year in high school, and it was the happiest time I have had in a long time; I felt healthy and happy, and my self-esteem was at an all-time high. Throughout college, I have slowly started to eat unhealthy meals and I exercise far less than I used to. In addition, I drink a lot during the weekends and sometimes weekdays, a barrier which I did not have to overcome during my high school weight loss. I have faced a lot of depression in my college years as well, and I am ready to start to take back the power. I'm happy to be on this forum!

You did it once and I'm sure you'll do it again. The calories in those beers can really add up. I hope you're in a good mental state now and I know you can tackle this head on and make a change to being happy and healthy again. Let's get it rocking, bro!

Hi Cody! Welcome! I, too, struggle with the booze. Not in an alcoholic way, but definitely in a aware-of-my-diet way. I liken it to cake. I don't eat a couple of pieces of cake in a night, but somehow I can justify having a couple of beers a night. Strange what the mind will do! How did you loose that 80 lbs in high school?! That is a huge accomplishment.

And, exactly like dudeitstime said! If you can do it once, you can do it again and *this* time you can do it in a way that leads to a lifetime of health!
