Sport Dates

hi guys
Just wondering about dates. I love them and usually substitute them for something sweet like lollies, but im trying to loose weight and is this setting me back as i know they have a lot of sugar in ?

Depends on how many you're having and the rest of your menu. If eating them is putting you over your caloric intake goals... then that's a problem. But if you're having 1-2 per day and you're working out and your menu accounts for the dates... I wouldn't worry about it.

It's important to eat foods we like and dates are not the worst thing for you. They are certainly better than a lot of other things :)
 
Some dates are soaked in sugar, then pumped with sugar, then dipped in sugar, mashed up with sugar and pumped back in with sugar, quickly sprinkled with sugar and then packed (in sugar i think).

But you can buy natural dates and just lightly dress them with some honey.
 
Some dates you really don't want to try, they can be far too sweet, usually popping out the "L" word in a week... Other dates are rather bland, and make jogging for hours look quite enjoyable...Still others can be too strong, coming in expensive jars and constantly attempting to show off...

Of course, this is all from legend, i'm a firm believer in skipping dates and going right for the dessert...

Now if only that ever worked, i'd SO have it made :D
