Weight-Loss Dancing Challenge Idea.

I was thinking. Hips, stomach, and thighs tend to be the problem for most people, and targeting those areas is hard, and I know you can't choose one area to burn weight. I've taken up dancing at least four days a week (in my room to music that makes me want to move). I've lost almost seven inches off my waist, about five off my hips, and four off my thighs. I was thinking of 'what if we all danced a least 15-30 minutes a day, four to five days a week?'.. Up beat dancing burns almost 300 cals. in half an hour. The longer you dance, it burns more cals. per minute.

I was thinking to do a contest for a timed period, whoever joined in would do at 15-30 minutes a day, 4-5 days a week, and at the end, whoever either reached their goal weight (if anyone) or lost the most weight gets title of Best Dancer, and I'll put it on my webpage that they were a great inspiration, because they would be. I might even buy them a CD of music they like and send it to them (If I have the money to do it, sometimes I'm a heavy shopper ^.^). (I'm starting a webpage on my weight loss journey to keep myself encouraged, as well as people I know, and their friends.)

Let me know what you think, or ideas. ^.^ I hope this is a good one.

I love to dance, not so much free style in my room- but dance workout videos. I would be willing to do this! Great idea!

I belly dance 2 classes a week but have been meaning to get practise in outside of class too, this'll be perfect!
 
I was thinking, maybe we could share moves or talk about different styles on here... I'm willing to describe some basic belly dancing moves if anyone's interested... And I'd love to know what dance tapes you're using!
 
Okay, Start date will be tomorrow, Thursday, the 5th. Ending date will be August 28th, a Thursday (Which actually happens to be my boyfriend's B-day *did not plan, just wanted three months...*) I'll save a little money aside to buy the winner a CD of their choice, because I think thats at least a prize. Prize may end up changing. Start Weight is from tomorrow. You can use one of three setups, as any work. One is weight every week, one is weight every other week, one is weight every third week. Which ever one makes you feel more comfortable.

I have another suggestion... lots of the moves I do work your waistline quite bit, how about we track waist measurements too?
 
I like that. Who ever loses the most weight and inches. Lets say from waist and hips. We'll count each inch as, uhm 1.5lbs, maybe more, we'll see. I'll add whatever we agree a inch equals times the number of inches to the amount they lost.

EX - So if I lost 30lbs and 10in, and if a inch is 1.5lbs, at the end I'd add 15lbs to what I lost for a total of 45lbs. Which means the inches could actually help somebody win.

How does that sound?

.5 inch = 1 point

Whoever has the most points at the end wins the challenge?? I think we should rather reward half inches coz I don't think any of us has THAT much to lose, do we?
