I watched the first Harry Potter movie but TBH they're so **** the only way I'd watch any of the others is if they kicked out the pasty, dull looking girl and cast Megan Fox instead.

Maybe if John McClaine got a job as headmaster, Rambo was the new PE teacher and Arnie played a Terminator who had been sent back in time to kill all private school boys and McClaine and Rambo had to fight the Terminator bare knuckle to the death in a cage fight with Robocop as the referee then maybe I'd watch it

I’ve never seen what the big deal is about HP. The story and the writing is average to me. The books and movies are good, but some of the obsession going on, I just don’t get. I read Sci-fi and fantasy all the time, still don’t get the big deal of HP.
However, these books are bringing up a huge generation of kids that have been reading the books one after the other as they come out over the years. And that I think is a huge deal! These kids (and many now adults) have been turned on to reading in a big way. Hey, they could just skip reading and do the TV thing, but thankfully they have HP to motivate them to read.

Harry Potter seemed dumbed down...like its the Tolkien for today's ADD kids that can't be bothered with lots of descriptive language or complicated words & plots.
I've always been into high fantasy, sci fi, etc. HP seems very childish and ...well like I said before, dumbed down from what it could be.
