Okay so I barley eat now for the past 5 days.. i have no urge to eat. I probably eat about 500 calories a day. I only drink water and the only thing i ate today for probably 4 cheezits and little corn. and in about 3 hours it is night time. so if i were to continue on this path.. how long until i start seeing my weight shed off? Also, what fruits should i eat? I am going shopping tomorrow so can i get a list of fruits and foods i should buy.. thanks!:)

Bluebell67,

Like yourself- I also tried a very low calorie diet! It did absolutely nothing for me I was eating about 600 cals a day (and it was not difficult for me) I also worked out about 45 minutes a day. I did not see any weight loss. I think that you're supposed to eat a minimum of 1200 calories a day and work out (maybe burn off 300/400) I'm stuck right now as far as a diet goes. I'm going to try the subway diet.

As far as fruits go- I rec. plums, peaches, blackberries.

You absolutely need to be eating more.

*just so that you can imagine this... that's on the high-end amount of calories they gave the Jewish in the concentration camps.*

For a guide on how many calories you should be taking in and how many pounds a week you could lose safely, use this link . There are several calculators like this on the internet but this is my favorite. Fill in your gender, age, height, weight, and activity level. It will give you a good estimate on what you should do to lose or gain weight.

Also, I've noticed from your past posts that you ask about weight loss pills, how much weight you can lose in 20 days, and so on. Remember, it's better to be patient. The slower the weight loss, the better (generally). Plus, you'll have more time to develop healthy habits that will prevent you from gaining it all back.

It said if i want to lose 3 pounds a week i should have 600 calories a day. But people said if i want to lose weight i have to have 1200+ Calories a day. which do i do?

You must have filled in how much you want to lose a week. Don't do that. Let the calculator tell you the estimate of what you can lose a week at a healthy caloric intake. If you adjust things yourself and create an unhealthy scenario, it will tell you in bold red letters that what you want to do it not recommended.

I sort of feel the need to expand on this.... having a bit of knowledge about WW2. The Nazis imprisoned many people, the most numerous were the Jews.
But what must NEVER be forgotten is that the Nazis intended to kill everyone that weren't of the aryan people. 99% of Americans would have been killed according the "racially pure" standards of the Nazis.
I know this is off topic, but it's important to me that you become aware of this.
The exact number of people killed by the Nazi regime may never be known, but scholars, using a variety of methods of determining the death toll, have generally agreed upon common range of the number of victims. Recently declassified British and Soviet documents have indicated the total may be somewhat higher than previously believed[20]. However, the following estimates are considered to be highly reliable. The estimates:

5.1–6.0 million Jews, including 3.0–3.5 million Polish Jews
1.8 –1.9 million non-Jewish Poles (includes all those killed in executions or those that died in prisons, labor, and concentration camps, as well as civilians killed in the 1939 invasion and the 1944 Warsaw Uprising)
500,000–1.2 million Serbs killed by Croat Nazis
200,000–800,000 Roma & Sinti
200,000–300,000 people with disabilities
80,000–200,000 Freemasons [23]
100,000 communists
10,000–25,000 homosexual men
2,000 Jehovah's Witnesses

Thanks monster for expanding on that.
I'm actually in one of those groups myself so I knew about this. But my husband and I agreed that it would be best to keep the advice as close to "common knowledge" as I could get it. I could have said "people in concentration camps" instead though.

I hope bluebell takes the advice given to her.

Let's put this in perspective........
What if 911 happened EVERY DAY for 10 years.
That's how many people the Nazis killed (and that's a conservative estimate)
Imagine that.
.....
And for God's sake, Bluebell!!!! Eat some food!!!!
Geez.... come over here, I'll drive you to Burger King, and we'll go get a few whoppers! :patriot:

If you're losing way more than 1000 calories per day, your body is going to store every fat it physically can. Don't overdo it, just eat balanced meals with protein, carbs and vegetables.

You should eat more but maybe think about replacing high calories food with low calories ones. I personally did it for sugar. I cut all sugar intake and i switched to Natvia sweetener. One serve of sugar has 18 calories while Natvia has only 0.6 and it is all natural as well. You should try to eat smart rather than eat less to nothing.
