Disclaimer: no i don't intend to try this , I'm just wondering.

If a person was losing weight steadily and/or maintaining and then suddenly dropped their calories extremely low to say the dreaded 1200 for a week and then went back to their losing or maintain calorie intake what would happen? Would this help them in any way or just confuse the heck out of the body?

If this cycle was continued say 1 week a month of extremely low intake and 3 of normal would that make a difference?
