I have a huge sweet tooth and although I only drink water...OCASSIONALLY I like to add Crystal Light to my water to give it a sweet taste. I gave up on drinking Diet soda b/c it made me bloated and often gave me a false reading on the scale...i figured it was because of the caffeine. So my question is..Does drinking Crystal Light have the SAME EFFECT AS just drinking regular water? (minus slight calorie difference)

Any advice is welcomed :). I would love to hear from anyone who also enjoys drinking Crystal Light regularly. i.e. Your personal likes/dislikes and experiences.

Thanks!:)

Crystal light is one of the best ways to drink water if you must have that extra bit of sugar. Im not an expert though, im a sucker for advertisments

5 calories per 8 fl. oz. serving

17 oz packet Just add 20 oz water. Makes 2 1/2 servings. Sugar free. Ingredients: citric acid, potassium citrate, maltodextrin, aspartame (sweetener), magnesium oxide, contains less than 2% of natural flavor, lemon juice solids, acesulfame potassium (sweetener), artificial color, yellow 5 lake, BHT (preserves freshness) Phenylketonurics: contains phenylanine

Crystal light came out with a new one called Crystal light Green Tea. try that stuff :)

from what i've read and heard from dieticians - crystal light is fine for 1/2 your water consumption for the day - but - as hungry girl's website pointed out recently - read the label - are you sure you want toput some of those ingredients into your body?

Seny- Thanks for the advice on the green tea! Have you tried it before?:)

Maleficent- So you're saying that I should still be consuming just plain water most of the day? :( Lol, I guess if I can't understand half of the ingredients on a label, my body wont either :)...

Do you happen to have the link to the Hungry Girl's website?

- they have a weekly newsletter they send out - and it's full of product reviews and recipes and stuff -the site itself is a little annoying tonavigate but they did have a mailer on crystal light recently

i think most experts will agree that water is best - throw some lemon into it for added flavor butwater does a body good :D

Crystal Light lemonade and fruit punch, yum. I would agree on the 1/2 and 1/2 statement that was made. Its only 5 calories with no sugar, but you should still get plain water.

Also they make some great additives to protein shakes. I made a crystal light starwberry protein fruit punch smoothie and it was awesome.
