ok this is what im planning on eating for my cut (have at least 30 lbs too lose), same food daily (i get on fine with this) is this suitible for a cut and at least maintaining muscle with weight training? i can provide exact fuigures on ingrediants if needed.

meal 1-porridge oats, semi skimmed milk and 1 scoop whey protien shake with water.

meal 2-200g chicken breast, 150g broccoli

meal 3-(pre workout) 2 peices wholemeal bread, 1 whole egg, 5 whites scrambled..or ommlete and seperate toast.

meal 4-(post workout) 2 scoops whey with water, 300ml crannbery juice (concentrate)

meal 5-350 grams of low fat cottage cheese.

3 liters of water a day minimum and a multi vitamin tablet since its relitivly low of fruit and veg.

This all comes too about 1700 calories a day. i plan too cut for 30 lbs, then start a slow clean bulk, mabey adding more red meats in then. can i have some opinions on this diet plan please?:)

That looks decent to me but I'm not an expert. However I'd probably up it to 1800 cals *shrugs* Throw some almonds up in there! :)

Not knowing your height/weight, its tough to really say. It looks like you are definitely getting enough protein.

I don't know how you eat the cottage cheese plain. I have to put some fruit in there. I've eaten it without, but its just tough (the low fat kind anyways).

Can I ask about the cranberry juice? Curious why its post work-out.

hi bunny:) thanks for your opinion, iv added in some wholenut peanut butter into the cottage cheese meal for some healthy fats now, (not mixed together that would just be wrong loool.

heya jeff:) im 5.11 tall and im not totaly sure about weight (day 2 of healthy eating and drinking enough water-wanted too give it a few days for things too adjust) but im guessing around 210 pounds.

iv got too admit the cottage cheese is pretty nasty! but im acctualy getting used too it, did used too go for the pinapple one but its more exspensive and because im eating before bed the sugary carbs are prob not ideal.

the crannbery juice after the workout is for some fast acting carbs, iv read quiet a few times that after a workout this is the only time simple carbs are of use, i think its something too do with blood sugar levels and insulin spikes.

from another site

"The body's main priority post-workout is to replenish glycogen stores. The body stores glycogen in two places: in the liver and in muscle tissue. Of these two, the muscles can store a far greater amount, 250 to 400 grams, while the liver can only store about 100 grams. Moreover, it is primarily muscle glycogen that is depleted during a workout.

So the goal post-workout more specifically is to restore muscle glycogen. The body will even break down muscle tissue for this purpose if carbohydrates are not available. For this reason, it is vital to include carbohydrates in the post-workout drink. But what form of carbs is best for this purpose?

Post-workout is the one time that high-glycemic carbs are preferred. This term refers to carbs that are high on the glycemic index. This is a measure of how quickly a food raises blood sugar and hence insulin levels. Normally, it is best to eat lower glycemic foods so as not to initiate an insulin spike. But post-workout, the exact opposite is true. The elevated insulin levels will help to drive nutrients into the muscle cells."

Hi shae:)

As of right now probably not, i think im getting around 3 portions of fruit and veg from what im already eating altho the sorces and variation of the fruit and vegies is limited, im hopeing the multi vitamin may make up somewhat for this, but deppending on how it could effect progress i may well up that too 5 portions a day.

Okay. I just don't understand how so many people don't include heaps of veges. They are so good for you in so many ways and you can eat just about as much as your want and cut down on other things,,,,like the cottage cheese? I would rather veges in my body than cottage cheese. Veges are better than cottage cheese.

I wish you luck. :)

This is going too sound so stupid, but what kind of posative things will veggies do? i really need too keep the cottage cheese because its great slow release protien too sustain and help muscle repair through the night, fat loss is my main goal right now, but im hoping too build some muscle at the same time too start with:)

Thanks for your support:)

Well without writing a thesis, basically veges contain antioxidants that help stop certain cancers from forming in the body. The antioxidants help your body repair.

They also hold a lot of fiber, which helps your digestive system and your ability to process foods better.

I eat at least 60% veges or more at every meal and I have never had a problem with my weight. I am very healthy, very fit and it shows.

I look at peoples diets all the time and don't know if i should comment or not, I just get so confused. I don't understand how you can even function without veges.

I feel sick if I dont eat them within 24 hrs.

Cranberry juice does alot of that too =P

Oh yea, I didn't notice you only drink whey protein and water after workouts 9well I noticed, but didnt realize) You should have 2x the carbs as protein. So the protein can be absorbed quickly. I is stupid. thats why i drink chocolate milk if I cant get home to make a smoothie (low fat obviously).

Oh, at your height/weight you could start out at a higher calorie level.

Even just 2100 calories you should lose pretty quickly (quickly as in you wont have problems finding a good calorie level to lose). 10 calories less every pound lost (going by something I read here somewhere, too lazy to search).
