Creteine

I want to buy creteine but people have been telling me its bad for your body how is this? all I know about it is theirs some after effects and that it pumps water into your body. Can someone tell me if it is good for you or not? Thanks

Creatine is perfectly fine in a healthy individual. You just need to make sure you drink an adequate amount of water or else, in my experiences, you will get stomach cramps.

It adds water to your muscles to keep them "hydrated" apparently. Other than that I'm not sure of the specifics. It should help your workouts become better by making you stronger (while on it) and less fatigued.

I know this may sound insane! But recently ive been losing a lot of hair. When doing my exams today, there were strands all over the place. Could this be because of the Creatine im taking??? My dad questioned it and i was just curious.

Matt,

I really doubt it. Creatine a naturally occuring thing in our bodies, and any excess you take you just piss out.

I started getting white...not grey, but white hairs when I was 19, and my hair thinned out a lot. I didn't go bald or get a receding hairline...it simply thinned out a little. I considered it 'loosing my kid hair'...as I lost most of my natural curl then too, and went from blonde highlights, to red highlights, which also showed up in my beard.

Creatine seems to be giving me problems with my kidneys - is this common or should I drop it?

Lower dosage maybe?

How do you know it's with your kidneys?

You don't need more than 5grams a day (postworkout). You should see a doc, though, to see what's really going on.

5 grams of creatine a day??? I just bought EAS phosphagen and the directions tell me to :

" as a dietary supplement take 1 1/2 teaspoons ( 5 grams ), mixed into juice or water 4 times daily for 5 days ( loading dose). Thereafter take 1 1/2 teaspoons 1 to 2 times daily ( maintenance dose.) "

Im just confused now. So how much should i really take?

First off, yo udon't need a loading phase.

Second, phosphagen is not pure creatine...so the other fillers in there means your 5g serving doesn't have 5g of creatine in it.

if you're under 200lbs, 3g of creatine monohydrate per day, no loading. After 21 days (average) your muscles will be fully saturated anyways.

If you're 220lbs or over (and lean) then go with 5g of creatine a day.
