creatine usage

Hey all,

I am starting creatine monohydrate this week and will be taking 5grams a day about 30 mins before going to the gym. Do I have to take it on the days I am resting?? Also, I am not loading.

no need to load, so good on that.

take 5g POST workout, with your PWO shake. post workout, your body is primed to take up nutrients.

Creatine is NOT an instant fix...creatine supplementation builds up creatine levels in the body, so after you reach saturation, that's when you'll see the benefits of using it (and is why some people load...to speed up the process of saturation).

Unless you are over 200lbs and fairly lean, you probably don't need more than 3g a day. Take it on off days too.

and you don't need to cycle off creatine either.

Just to add, you might want to use a proper transport during the saturation period. Once your muscles are fully saturated you can essentially take it with anything, but until that point you should be taking it with something sugary like grapejuice, dextrose etc..
