from my understanding of DOMS, it's about your body recovering from your workout. The only way it recovers is through the healing process ... this can be expedited by increasing your circulation (cool-down, hot-cold shower alternating, etc). I'm not a huge fun of creatine, but i don't think it'll have any affect on DOMS ...
Taking creatine + your protein shake will not create any problems or interference as they are 2 completely different things. Protein is protein (a macronutrient), creatine is creatine phosphate, an amino acid that creates ATP (needed for muscle contraction) for you to lift a certain weight. It also creates bigger muscles by supplying more fluid to them.
I am no expert, but based on what I know of creatine, it has nothing to do with DOMS. If you're having problems with DOMS, reduce the weight or sets.
