Sport creatine crossroads

Sport Fitness
im torn between my descision of whether or not to take creatine. i have been for the past 2 months, where i have stayed creatine free.
but iv heard so much praise for creatine and i feel like i am missing out on so much. there are so many kids at my school on creatine and with all my hard work and great diet, i am only keeping up with them(not that im competing with them but...im joining the football team so i will be). so i really need some great advice here. i have some Q's:
1. what is a good creatine powder to buy?
2. wat happens when i stop taking creatine? do you lose any strength/muscle? i want to be able to perform at a good level even when im off of creatine. i DO NOT want to rely on it.

Creatine only does so much, its not a miracle drug or anything. The cheapest form of creatine monohydrate will suit you just fine. When you get off of it, you may lose some water weight, but certainly not muscle. As you know, creatine gives you a faster supply of ATP, used for energy spurts. Getting off of creatine might cause that last little umph to go away, but you won't be relying on it.

Aren't you like 16yrs old or so?

Wait until you actually hit a plateau. I use it (at 42), but I'm considering dropping it from my list. I simply don't adhere to it well enough and since I'm not competing for anything, it makes little sense to spend money on it.

/echo what Cynic says. wait til you are 18 before you play with anything beyond a multivitamin and maybe some protein powder.
