creatine and protein sup?

hello,

i have a question about creatine.a person at a nutrition
store told me that creatine just pulls moisture into the
mucsle to build or make look bigger and then once you
quit usage.the muscle gain is lost.i was wondering if this is true?

also if there is one product as far as whey protien mix
and creatine mix that gives the best benifits that everyone
belives thats the best.to many adver.and misleading info out
there for a begginer.thx on advance pjs.

Well the guy at the store is almost right. It does do what he says and the benefits of creatine are more cosmetic than structural. Creatine does have some beneifts to allow you to build more strength but the supplement does not cause that. You'd be MUCH better off getting a post workout shake with Protein and High Glycemic carbs like Biotest Surge or GROW.

You'll gain weight initally but its because of water retention and not muscle gain. Then when you stop taking it you'll lose the weight and the muscle you thought you attaind will go down the toilet along with the excess water.

Don't waster your money. Spend it on good foods and a good PWO shake.

i appriciate that reply.makes me wonder why anyone would want creatine if its not going to stay with you all of the time.seems
a little sinceless.but i guess the image means alot.

i wonder how long it takes before the water retention is released
after you stop taking it?in other words how long it takes before
your muscles deflate lol :)

There is more to creatine than simply volume retention. The problem is that some are non-responders to creatine meaning it doesn't show increase strength gains or faster sprint times.

well i seen were some people it effects and some it dont.
i also seen were cycling was used to keep the creatine
stored in the muscles.so much time on and so much time off.
but it didn't say why to cycle.i went serching after last post.starting to be more curious now.

As far as I know, cycling creatine provides no distinct advantages or disadvantages. I need to do some more research on creatine.. if I ever get around to it.. :)

Creatine does not need to be cycled. You're body can actually hold up to 3 grams more creatine than I does during the day. If you ingest creatine at any point other than immediately after a workout you'll piss most, if not all, of it out. You're muscles are most ready to uptake it right after a work out. So on non workout days there is no need to use it, no need to cycle it and no need to waste it. If you're not engageg in heavy physical activity that day you're body is most liklel already maxed out in creatine retention. Anything yu take in will just get pissed out. You're body is pretty close to max if you eat any red meat at all.

ALSO if you're participating in any sport that requires coordination e.g. Golf, Basketball creatine can and most likely affect your CNS and motor system and will work against you. It could benefit powerlifters, football players and sprinters but for people that particiapte in a sport that requires coordination its a no no.

Water. YOU MUST DRINK WATER if you use it. Drink throughout the day and about an hour before you go to bed. You'll be running to the bathroom 10 times a day.

PLAIN CREATINE ONLY! Any creatine that containes sugar is garbage and has been proven to NOT increase creatine uptake. Protein, sodium and muscle readiness play a bigger role in creatine uptake thna sugar, glucose cory syrup etc..... STAY AWAY FROM CELL TECH!

After reading all of this and you still want to give creatine a shot buy ProLabs CreaPure Creatine. Its plain creatine no sugar added. Take it in your PWO shake only after lifting not running or any cardio work. But hopefully you'll realize the benefits (cosmetic changes, may increase the ability to do things longer, e.g. sprinting at full speed for 110m rather than 100m) do not outweigh the negatives (water retention, coordination deficit, pee pee runs through out the day, pissing out most of what you ingest)

Your nutrition store weenie has it half right. Every molecule of creatine that goes into a muscle cell carries one water molecule with it, so you will retain more water and the muscles will look bigger. BUT that creatine, once inside the muscle cell, will regenerate ADP into ATP, so you will be able to produce more energy in a short period of time, thus you will be stronger for short bursts of power.

Yes, this is the answer. It is not only for cosmetic benefits - it helps you to get more ATP, your muscles energy source, which theoretically allows you to work harder.

So, creatine WILL give you reults, BUT only if you use it right!
If you take the wrong dose, dont drink enough water, or dont work hard enough in the gym, it will be a waste.
