Creatine and Acne...

Hello everyone, I have a question regarding the topic of creatine causing acne. I am aware of the other side effects that creatine has such as dehydration (if you don't get enough H20) and bowel issues (particularly during loading phases). I have loaded up on creatine 3 different times now and every single time I have observed a very noticable increase of acne all on my upper back/arms. I generally have a very light amount of acne on my back but after completing the loading phase on the creatine it has become much more severe, and even spread to parts of my upper arms/shoulders. My diet has remained about the same, I've been showering immediately after workouts and treating the acne stronger than ever.

Do you think that this could be linked to the creatine? I was skeptical but now that it's happening for a third time I am starting to see a common denominator. It's not worth taking the creatine if I don't even want to take my shirt off at the beach due to acne.

Um, not trying to be a smart ass but do u clean ur self good in the shower? i have been using creatine for about 2 years and i get the occasional blackhead when my under-armor gets sweaty, but i dont think acne and creatine go hand in hand at all.

U probably have a small problem with acne due to oily skin or high levels of testosterone and creatine loading aggrevates it. Try reducing creatine supplementation to once a day, or even once every other day. It will still help u during ur workouts; if the problem continues, i would suggest u stop it, if it makes u uncomfortable.

The point of taking 5g of creatine daily is to keep your saturation levels up.

creatine

Not really, the guidelines are the same whether u weigh 180 or 250 pounds and it shouldn't be this way. They say those guidelines r 4 optimal performance but it can give you a lot of problems, like going to the toilet all the time, acne, which, again shouldn't b happening. Use creatine in moderation, if it's giving u problems. reduce it, we still don't know the long term effects of it, it's a very controversial subject, that's why they tell you to take it in cycles, for safety reasons.

Well...to get back on topic....Cnatboy, just make sure u wash ur self good.
