Sport Counting Calories

Sport Fitness
how do u count calories on food that you cook like not store bought things with the nutrional facts on the back?

If you have a PDA, look for a shareware software program for it that does it for you. Most have a large database of foods that you just enter the serving sizes. They also will calculate the daily protein, carb, fat intake each day. Most can also be setup group foods into meals which makes data entry a snap. It's the only way I've been able to control my intake.

Log all the food you eat WITH the amounts you eat, go to the above website and then see how many calories things are...

Go to and there is a whole list of food and calaries associated with it. You can even track that in a database and save it for future use.

MIR what are your goals besides getting more powerful or stronger? It seems like your averaging 2700-2800 cals. I would try to hit 3000 everyday if I were you. Also, I would try not to exceed 85g of fat more than once a week. Just ripping your diet apart.

Those are some weird caloric intakes MIR. More fat cals than protein? carb intake is ok, but i'd drop some fat and increase protein and carbs a little since you're trying to bulk.
might need to up total calories too, IF you're not making the weight gains you're after in a reasonable fashion.

The Tricky Food

When counting calories, it is important to realize what food group your food is actually coming from. The food that will not have the calorie amount on it is typically food purchased at a local farmer's market. Even fresh fruits and vegetables from a supermarket will have the nutrition facts posted somewhere in the produce section. Remember that even if the nutrition facts aren't listed, you can go by the food's weight, such as if you have a five ounce apple, or some other fruit, you would be able to go on the internet and learn what caloric value such food contains per ounce. Good Luck With Your Calorie Counting! I know it's hard!
;)

if you do it everyday...it will become a habit ...now i just read it and i can remember it all day...and my total and everything...try to keep the same things each day...
