Sport Counting Calories in oil and butter

Sport Fitness
I am not sure how i should go about counting calories in oil and butter when I use it for certain things.

I fry turkey bacon with healthy oil. Do I count the amount I put in the pan or do i count what isn't in the pan after cooking?

And when i bake chicken I put butter in the pan and some on the chicken but it melts down into the pan. There is always some left in the pan when done.

How do I count this stuff? Its all good fat, but I still don't want to get to much of it.

If you watch your calories, I'd count it.

ok, why are you frying bacon in more oil?! even turkey bacon has sufficient fat content to cook on its own. if it sticks to the pan, use some PAM.

either way, you need to count it.

my suggestion: get a foreman grill if you can't get a real gas grill. grilling = lower fat.

Well it only has 1 gram of fat the turkey bacon I get. I use only very low fat meats in general. If I count all of the oil or the butter than that could be 120-140 calories. If that isn't all that I use though I could go under in my calories and into starvation mode by accident if I count all of them and I don't want that either.

When i cook the bacon there is plenty left in the pan, and I dry the bacon to a crisp with a paper towel. I watch my needs very close, yes I could take it out, but there has to be a answer for this.

It is all guess work anyways... but a good guestimate... IMHO would be...

when you cook something in oil... some gets obsorbe... some is left on the outside.. some fat comes out of what you are cooking... so just make a good guess..

Like for cooking onions... figure... not much fat in onions... you put in a tbsp or oil and when you are done there looks to be mostly used up... then count like .75 of a tbsp...

For bacon... I sometimes throw a pat in when I start cooking it...so it doesn't initially stick.. BUT bacon is (not lowfat turkey stuff) is so fatty that by the time you are done you are cooking in a bunch of bacon fat anyways... so I figure I just added zero extra cals that way... its like this... if you deep fry a french fry in 1 gallon of oil it doesn't have less callories than the same size fri deep fried in 2 gallons of oil...

just make an honest estimate of how much oil you took with you... how much was left behind... and guess...
