Ok, so a few months ago I got really deteminted to tlose weight...but it kinda faded away and now I'am back to eating to much.
Frist off, Im 5'8" and weigth about 200pds (YIKES). I'am a size 14 in pants. and I know I have a larger frame because I have fricken huge wrists, (and my dad is huge)
ant to lose as much weight as I can before show season starts again (horse shows) because well there is a certain image that a ride should have.
My short term goal is 170, but I'd like to eventually be 155.

Buutt Anyway. So i want to go on the 5 small meal a day plan, as I think that will help me the most. and I have a few questions,
How many calories should each meal have?
How many calories should I have?
I'am trying to swim in my pool for at least 40 minutes, along with running or walking if I can, and of course riding.
Thank you.

You should concentrate on eating the right foods, and not just calorie counting. That being said, if you choose to calorie count, I would say no less than 1500 calories per day. If you try and keep it between 1500 - 1800 calories per day, you should lose weight with a regular exercise plan.

Try not to eat too late at night.

In terms of per meal, that's hard to say. Your meals will vary daily. One day, lunch can be 300 calories, and the next day it may be 500 calories. Concentrate more on the foods you eat and the daily caloric intake instead of the number of calories per meal.

:)

Ok.
Is it better to start your day off with the higher end of you calorie limit.
Like..Haveing a 400 calories breakfast instead of having a 400 calorie dinner?

I don't really think it matters that much. Just don't skip breakfast. Eating breakfast is what gets your metabolism started for the day.

If you want a rough sample, I'd say..

500 calorie breakfast
100 calorie snack
500 calorie lunch
100 calorie snack
500 calorie dinner
100 calorie snack

This brings the grand total to an 1800 calorie day.

Think of it this way though, a bowl of oatmeal should be about 150 calories. If you throw in two packets of oatmeal, thats 300 calories. Add a light yogurt, that should bring it to about 400 calories. Drink a glass of water, 0 calories.

That would be a 400 calorie breakfast.

There is no set amount that this meal has to be a certain amount of calories. For example, if you eat a 600 calorie breakfast, but a 400 calorie lunch, you can have a 500 calorie dinner. The number of calories per meal isn't exactly set in stone.
