Sport Confused

I have been looking around at different calculators online that will help me get on the right track. But with some of the numbers I have questions. I have 16.5% body fat (gym measured with some little grip machine). I was looking online and there was some daily calorie intake. I said I was moderately active because I want plan on running 30 mins a day and then lifting as well. Its come to the consensus that I need to take in around 2500-2700 calories. And I know that I can run a 7 minute mile no problem (for probly 3 miles), if I really push I can do it in 6 minutes. That alone will burn 700 calores according to my weight and BF. My overall goal is to lose BF% to a point where I look really lean, then from there go with muscle mass. So if I run that amount thats around 1400 caloris which is more than half my daily intake. It makes sense that I will lose weight. But how do I go about losing the weight without losing the muscle? Would the lifting help with that?? Also my target heart rate should be 150-160 I think the calculator said. Basically if I am above that am I expending energy that is not even being beneficial to my workout?

Im starting to trim the diet from cupcakes/ramen/fast food (college student and computer nerd haha) to a more healthy diet.

Sorry for being so long, I was not sure where to put this but since it has to do with calories I thought I would toss it in nutrition.

first off, i think you are over estimating the amount of calories to run a mile. I dont think its that high but i could be wrong.

I'm not sure what you are asking about the calories. I didnt really see a question there.

About losing muscle, I would suggest you develop a full body workout that will help maintain/gain muscle mass. To lose fat, you want to put yourself on a hypocaloric diet. Basically, eat less than you burn. the cardio will help burn the stored fat, and the weight lifting will help maintain the muscle, as well as help burn the fat.

Yeah I take it back for the time in the mile its like 500 calories. And by full body workout do you mean a workout in one sitting of my entire body or say like I am used to, an arm and back day, chest shoulders day etc. Or just do bench, squants, curls all in one session.

full body workout is like 4-5 compound lifts in one session that hit every major muscle group. great for burning calories as well
