I am trying to crunch numbers in my head and it's making me go insane. I get the feeling I am not doing enough. I have been averaging about a 1000 calorie intake per day and I am at the gym for 2-3 hours every night. I know that I need to burn more calories than I eat, but I would have to burn 3500 more calories than I eat, per week, just to lose a pound. I also know that I burn calories all day long, just doing my normal routine.

Am I truly going insane? Or am I doing enough?

How much do you weigh? How tall are you? 1,000calories seems like a really low number. Generally you're pusta stay above 1,200calories. Cause too little calories can, infact, make you gain weight.

Read the stickies, they're helpful. TONS of information!

At your weight your body burns about 2500 cals per day if you lay in bed,let alone going to the gym 3 hours a night, your maintenance with that activity level is probably upwards of 3500,eating a 1000 cals a day is unnecessary.

You need to double your calories to at least 2000 maybe more and weight train or do cardio sensibly, not every day and no need to do 3 hours.Find your maintenance level with a bmr calculator then work out your activity level and knock around 1000 cals per day off that that is 2lbs a week weight loss their, add in some exercise to help it along and wait for the new you.
