confused on diet programs...

So yes i am very confused on this whole diet thing, and being a lifetime member of the fat club (with a few months leave of absence) you'd think that i should be an expert...but well here i am

so here is my issue....What the hell am i supposed to do.... i get so many different answers eat more, eat less, don't eat, don't fast, drink water, take pills bla bla bla....

so here's my story in a quick little nutshell...well more like turtleshell but who's measuring?

Was always tall for my age and NEVER thought that i was stick thin and ALWAYS thought that i was HUGE (even as little as 6 i remember these feelings)...now i look back at pictures of myself and realize that i was really skinny as a kid, but alas my self-loathing became a self fufilling prophecy...so when i was about 13-15 i really did start packing on those lbs since high school untill recently i have ALWAYS been a size 12 and around 180lbs....

REALLY packed on the lbs when i worked in a high pressure/lots of going out and drinking beer job(up to 215lbs) then quickly (in about a month) lost it and got back to my normal 180 and then a year later got serious about dieting (a little too serious) and lost around 30-40lbs in a matter of months by only eating 1/2 chx breast and lettuce a day and working out for 45 min everyday with out fail. of course i gained most (not all) of that back.

after my inital 35lb weightlos/25lb re-gain i dieted like i did the first time (chx and dry lettuce once a day w/water and lots of black coffee) and it took me forever to loose even 5lbs and i barely lost an inch...plus i was exercising like mad

i started eating meals again before i moved from london to cape town and gained about 10lbs ...meals=salads, chx, tomatoe/moz sandwitch and vry rarely pasta and i also stopped working out and starting drinking beer again. Then i went to africa for five months and ate 3 square meals a day and drank wine everynihgt (no more beer EVER) and only in the last few weeks there did i eat unhealthy (ie chips, burgers, pasta) and i gained only in those weeks 5lbs.....but the other times while i was EATING i didn't gain or loose but stayed the same...kinda like what was happening when i was starving myself...except for the fact that i wasn't miserable

so i def know how to maintain
i REALLY know how to gain (beer thank you very much)
but how do i loose???....does my body really need to be shocked into eating next to NOTHING since eating around 600 calories a day isn't helping....or is it TRUE that u have to eat to loose and should i try and eat three healthy meals a day and of course go to the gym...

i am thinking the later but i normally do eat healthly (skimlatte for breakfast, salad for lunch, big salad with protien and wasa crakers for dinner) i only eat poorly on rare occasions (xmass, thanksgiving, my birthday, easter, weddings) which comes out to once every 2 months or so....so why do i not loose.....did i blow my one shot at weightloss??? am i doomed forever HELP!!!!!!!!!!

40% protein ;10-12% fats;40-50 % carbs depending on your body type.if your more likely to store fat then eat less carbs, replaced with protein.i lost 60lbs doing this !

divide meals into 6 a day(it increases metabolism), the reason is that it take 2.5 hours to digest food, you want a continuall stream of food into blood , prevents body from going into starvation mode where it tries to hold onto the fat you have and it will actually use muscle for energy not the fat (from what i read on iron magazine forums.com)

It can be confusing

I was having trouble figuring this out too. I was trying to lose weight and wasn't going anywhere with it. I think that you have to have a certain amount of calories to lose weight. Too much and of course you gain fat. If too little, then your body goes into a startvation mode and starts conserving fat. And that you also have to have a balance of protein, carbs and fat to keep your body's metabolism running. If you have too little or too much of any of these it can throw things off. I have just started this program and I am finally seeing inches coming off. My husband is on it too and is also losing inches. And it is in a healthy way, not too fast and not to slow either. So, you have to find that balance to keep/get your metabolism running efficiently.

There is always hope

NO, you haven't blown your one shot at weight loss. There is always another oppertunity just as long as you keep trying.

There is a program I am now a part of called Isagenix. It is not a diet, but is instead a life-style change which utilizes 100% all natural components in order to restore the body to its natural beauty. Believe it or not, most of the foods we eat, including produce and meats from the supermarket, are loaded down with toxins and oxidents. These chemicals make the foods we buy appear bigger, brighter, and more appetizing than they do naturally. But do you really know what this is doing to your health? Isagenix delievers a product named "Cleanse for Life" which cleanses the body at the cellular level in order to remove these harmful toxins from your body. Once these toxins are removed, the body can begin absorbing the nutrients it needs in order to function efficiently, while at the same time burning the fats that were previously used to hold excess nutrients and to trap toxins. You will notice results during the first few days of the cleansing process; I lost 3 pounds the first couple of days but results usually range between 1 1/2 to 8 pounds in the first few days. And the best part is that its 100% natural consisting of fruits, herbs, vitamins, and minerals; it is absolutely, 100% healthy.

You've been in a battle your whole life so I know that you are a person who is willing to work hard to win. I strongly encourage you to take a look at Isagenix here at LINK REMOVED. If you have any questions, please email me at [LINK REMOVED. I will be more than happy to answer them.

Sorry, thats all there is to say

Hey everybody.

Sorry about the deleted links. I didn't know sharing my success with everyone would be considered spamming. I just felt like it was an obligation to inform everyone about the program that has provided myself and many others with life-changing results. I am NOT here just to exploit people and to make money, receive commisions or anything by directing people to my site. My only intentions are for people to give Isagenix a look, sign-up for their products (since they worked amazingly for me), and to share valuable information with others. I have information to support all of my suggestions (and remember these are suggestions!!!) I give to people about Isagenix. If I was out for a mere profit, I wouldn't take the time to provide information on the health benifits of these products. Honestly, Im only 16 years old and I cant legally make a profit or any kind of money from Isagenix ANYWAY!!!

Like I said before, I only want to share information with others. If that is a problem, then I feel no one is going to get anywhere. But hey, thats just the opinion of a 16 year-old who feels healthier and better about himself. That being said, I will continue to post information about health issues and problems us Americans are facing, and I will continue to post about how Isagenix can help solve these problems. I feel like its my duty after what it has done for me.

If people want to better themselves, I feel it is essential to find the problem, and then seek out the solution. I will help anyone who is willing to turn there life around. I will provide factual health information, and leave it to them to determine what they do from there, Isagenix or not.

I must say that I was a little insulted when my contact information was removed. I will post my new site whenever I get it up, but as for my email, I fell you should be able to contact me with questions and concerns regarding health. My email is roberttyler_06@hotmail.com . I hope someone wil read this so that they understand my true intentions.

I was in exactly the same shoes as you 12 months ago, and then life was turned around for me when i visited Energy 4 Health's website. They offered me a free consultation and free mentoring throughout my weight loss, which i found really helpful as trying to tackle weight-loss on your own is not easy, and my mentor always helped to motivate me. The diet was really easy and well worth the money. There is also a 30 day money back guarantee, so i would definately give it a try and if you fail then at least you haven't spent any money. Also their diet helps increase your metabolism, so you can keep the weight off, as I now happily do :)

I recently learned that you should not eat more than 600 calories at a sitting because the body cannot metabolize more than 600 calories at a time. That's why it's better to eat several smaller meals during the day.

What you are suppose to do on a diet.....count calories, count carb, count fat grams....etc. depends on which type of diet you are on. Some diets will have you to eat low calorie, some will be low carb....etc.

The first thing you should do it look at your current way of eating and improve it. Getting rid of sugars is the biggest thing to do first. Also eating food in its raw or natural state is the best way to eat.

Hope this helps:)

i dropped the whole idea of diets ... and just started eating healthy ... 4 to 6 times a day ... fruits, veggies, fish, chicken, etc etc ... trying for 'whole' foods .. or ones with minimal processing ...

i try to get at least 2,000 calories a day ... in another week i will start getting that up to 2,500 a day ... at my size i should be eating close to 4,000 a day just to maintain my weight ... so shooting for 3,000 - 3,500 and exercising often ... to loose mine ...
